Question about soft/firmware updates.

I am 220 kms in with my Norco VLT R1 and am loving it. I am also very happy with my LBS.

I just checked the software versions in the settings mode with the Intuvia. Here is what I found:

Intuvia: Latest - 5.7.3.0 | Installed - 5.7.3.0
Power Pack: Latest - 1.7.1.0 | Installed - 1.5.2.0
Drive Unit: Latest - 1.7.0.0 | Installed - 1.6.0.0

As I am having no problems with the bike, my questions are:
  1. Would there be any substantial difference if the Power Pack and Drive Unit were updated to current?
  2. Is it a major undertaking for the LBS?

Thank you for your thoughts.

My Cannondale Mavaro has a phone charging port on the side of my Bosch control display. I'm wondering if I can do a firmware update myself, using a USB cable with a phone connector.

@andyJH and @Tina Marie ,

The firmware can only be updated at the dealer level.
They need to connect to the Bosch portal using a dongle and the bike with the battery installed needs to be connected for the update process.
It takes no more than 3-5 mins to do it.

The difference would be minimal. Only one previous update increased the torque level (from 60Nm to 63Nm) back in early 2017.
It won't change the performance drastically but it's nice to have the latest version.

You can make changes like changing the light voltage, changing the wheel diameter etc.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to find a licensed dealer and see what they say.

Curious to know where information about the latest firmware versions can be found? Is there a link to a page where this is posted?

Thanks,
