Prodigy XC

Anyone with the XC willing to post a review? I am curious how these tires perform on a paved road. Also, what the PAS1 range is.

I would use it mostly for commuting but want the XC as occasionally I would hit forest service roads. I would add splash guards and a rack.

thanks!

I have a Prodigy ST with a couple hundred miles on it and must say really I love it. I believe the only difference is in the drive system on the XC Prodigy. It has a smaller chainring. Regarding the tires it should do very well on forest roads. I also have a Juiced RipCurrent with 4 inch wide knobby tires which work real well on very soft surfaces and well on hard surfaces too. The downside on hard surface is the siren like noise they make. If you keep the pressure up on them they ride on the center strip and don't seem to cause any significant rolling resistance.

thanks, good point on the pressure!

Is your battery holding up OK so far? What about the paint / finish? I remember reading that R1U bikes tend to have poor quality paint.

My battery seems to be just fine but then again I only have a couple hundred miles on the bike so time will tell. I suspect it is a high quality battery as they are kind of making it obvious about the specs. The paint, finish is perfect on my machine. I it seems to be thick, it is very shiny and looks as though it is durable. I suspect the Prodigy line is a whole different animal from the other Ride1Up line up of bikes so there may be some quality difference's. May be is the key word here as it is only a guess on my part. It is certainly different being a mid drive.
