Please recommend a rear rack

Hi again ! I have a full suspension ebike Scott Strike eride 930 2020 edition, 29". It has from the factory holes for rear rack , but i can't find the rack who is design for this bike. It's out of stocks. I need a rear rack who has a spring and i want it to put two bike bags on it. Also it must have at least 3 points because with just two he can bent ? In the top of the rear wheel it has a plate with two holes. I think that the rear rack must be hooked from one from two holes under the rearf fender ?

I see another rear rack from Scott

but i don't know if it will be ok and i don't want if it will fit really good. Look at this rear rack and please tell me what to do or give me another choice if you have one.

Nice Bike! Given the sort of rack you show, looks good, seems to me you will need some sort of bracket and stays to attach to the seat stay as well. Just an aside: hope those particles shown in your second pic are just dust and not metal shavings.

It really depends on how much weight you want to carry. If trunk bag with small fold out paniers like the Topeak DXP would be sufficient then that bag with their MTX beamrack seatpost mount is great as you only need to carry it along when you actually need it. Their other option is the tetrarack MTBM2 Mountain which mount on the seat stays. The advantage of the seatpost mount is that it keeps your rack and cargo suspended, subject to less jarring and stress as opposed to a rack that mounts to the rear axle.

Reef Scott, It's just dust. You know another universal rear rack? Because i don't have any bike shop in my town and i must order everything online. I already ordered an Acid Cube rack who has this bracket to be hooked from the superior side of the wheel, but this bracket was too short and i was oblige to return it.

I hate to ordered things and to return them.That's why i'm asking in forum about this.

Just be sure the down tube of the rack is the correct length to get it above your tire and you gotta keep the bags off your derailleur and brake. I'm sure you know that however. I noticed you have a 29er so you gotta figure that out.

Thank you but i can't use a seatpost racks. I have a dropper seat post and my ebike has already holes for rack. It's not ok to put extra weight to be suported in the middle of the bike, suported by the rear shock. So seat post racks - no.

No spring on this one but I don't know what that spring thingy is really good for anyway. This one has the receiver for the topeak type smaller bags with a grooved attachment to hold their day bags. I really like mine.

Yeah I missed his (oops, her) pic showing the threaded holes in the buttress of the swing arm. All he has to do is adapt his seat stays to go there. Or just make stays.

Thank you but take in mind about the holes from the frame. You can see them in those photos uploaded by me in a previous post. So i can't use this type of rack because i don't have holes to catch the front of the rack.

Sure you do. Those two holes in the part that welds your seat stays together. You showed them in your fifth pic.

Flo, as far as I'm aware, the only rear rack manufacturer anywhere who has addressed both front and rear suspension applications remains Old Man Mountain. Link: https://oldmanmountain.com/

I installed them several years ago on my full suspension Haibike Full FatSix and I could not be happier. OMM relies on a purpose built thru-axle made by The Robert Axle Project specially for OMM which puts the entire weight of the rack and pannier contents on the thru axle, not the frame. The top stays are there just to steady the rack.

The only question is is there is a dealer in your home country as I am assuming you are not in the USA. Maybe worth a call to OMM and see if they can ship overseas. I see they do list some Scott Ebikes in their Fitment Section, but not yours. What you need when contacting them is the size of your rear axle. I believe they even have a section on how to measure the thru axle.

As everything on that rear thru axle is threaded into the axle, when fixing a flat tire, there are just a few extra steps you have to take to separate the rack stays from the thru axle, but not a big issue at all once you get a few flats under your belt as I have.

I took a few pics of my rear rack install. Keep in mind, my rack is an older generation of OMM and in particular, the top rack stay mounts have changed from aircraft clamps wrapped around the stay to a more cleaner "puck" for want of a better word. The stays come powder coated, whereas I had to have my plain aluminum rack stays powdercoated. These racks are not cheap. But then again, neither was your ebike.
