The well renowned "Guide Michelin" was built on the idea to show automobilist where to go for excellent eating (with their cars with Michelin tires mounted). Later, fine hotesl were added. Now, Pirelli looks like to go the same way.

In the Google Play store, you'll find Pirelli's latest app, the Cycl-e Around. With the app, you can rent a Stromer and make hotel reservations.

Pirelli is famous for its race tires. In this context, it was very surprising, to see the branding on the ST5 tires. Typographic grandfather style. It makes the imression, the designres at Piralli dont know what a ST5 is.

A closer look at the app solves all this missunderstandings: They deal with a 25km/h Stromer!

The ST1x with Roxim XE4 headlight and Pirelli cycl-e tires - over the roadmap of Rome.

The upcoming ST3 will also be fitted with the Pirelli tires. The myStromer AG changes the tires often. Maybe, the bad rain weather performance of the "Big Ben" is a reason. But the wholesale price might also play a role. The very detailed regulations in the EU countries bringen benefits for the original equipment manufacturers. It's not easy for the customers to replace their parts with those from a competitor.

With other words: The 27½ x 2.4 Pirelli could be "irreplaceable"...

Pirelli is coming up with a set of Cycl-e tires.

With different brand names, but all with the reflective side line and approved for slow moving 25 km/h. The Cycl-e and the Cycl-e ST will remain the exclusive 45 km/h tires for Stromer. The reflective line is NOT on the 45km/h version, because of the overwhelming EU bureaucracy. These armchair experts believe, a Stromer is a motorcycle like a Vespa - and therefore no safety equipment is allowed.
