Petition To Convince Alaskan Not to Change His Handle

I didn't think this would raise such a kerfuffle. Perhaps I should request another change when the option is available to: "Richard F. aka Alaskan"

“Alaskan” is pretty iconic, would be hard to give that up, especially since you’ve certainly earned it.

I thought at first glance that could be the Mendenhall in the pic, but I think it would be tough to get your boat in there! I guess there’s one or two more pieces of ice in Southeast, come to think of it.
That is the South Sawyer Glacier up at the head of Tracy Arm Fjord

(I probably should request the change to "Stephan Mikes" since most American friends of mine cannot visualise having that popular European name spelt with "f"...) :D
How come Americans write "draft" instead of "drapht"?! ("draught") :D
Now you understand why I never change my handle or avatar. Everywhere on the net, I am ArtDeco , the guy in the tux. And Richard the Alaskan's story is worth finding and should be easy to find. :D

Draught is for drinking!

I requested of the admin to leave my handle along and thus it remains Alaskan. I am uncharacteristically easy to influence today, probably the result of duking it out on a controversial thread the past three days. I just don't have it in me to resist or argue any more, or at least for a while ;)
Absolutely. Pick your battles wisely.

There are approximately 50 tidewater glaciers in Alaska.

So I am still "Alaskan" However, in the interest of full disclosure, I have never once ridden a bicycle in Alaska. I spent over 30 summers there working, but always on a boat.
Good Choice!!
If you keep extending the length of your rides from Washington, you might hit Alaska one day. ;)
