Hi guys!
I decided to paint my Frey FAT1000. Originally it was of a matte colour. Thus there was little to none lacquer to protect the frame against scratches and scuffs from small rocks etc.
The end result turned out nicer than expected. The new surface is very tough. Much tougher than the original.
I used normal spray cans. The taping must be removed whilst the last coat is still wet.
4 coats of paint
4 coats of shiny lacquer
A quick rub with wet 1000 grit sandpaper between each coat will make it ultra smooth. Total hours on this project: around 20.
I bet it’s going to look great in the snow.
Cheers!
