is it worthwhile to buy a new battery(dorado style) for a xc 100? in other wise good shape think the full discharge in cold weather killed it;)

If the old battery won't take a charge because it was over discharged, you may be able to save it. If you wire a charged battery of the same voltage, or a bench power supply, to the old battery charge connector, (observing the correct polarity) it is possible to put enough charge in the old battery so the OEM charger will "recognize" it again.

I've saved a couple of batteries this way. The trick is to access the cells directly, which can be an issue with the wiring on some charge connectors. Might be worth a try.

thanks I may try that if nothing else I may try to find a 13-15 amp replacement with Samsung or sanyo cells.
my experience with rechargeable devices,if I have a lithium fail they do so completely, the old ni cads would charge up to very diminished capacity getting very hot on the outside,I usually send anything like that to the recycler beings cadmium is very poisonous🤔
