Noseless saddle

I have been using this noseless saddle from Schwinn ($20-30 on eBay or Amazon) and it really helps with nerve pressure. My understanding is that this is really not a gender-related issue, but nerves that we all have tend to get pressed on by bicycle saddle noses, and that causes pain, especially when you get a little older like I am!

I also tried saddles from ISM, like the Typhoon, and they are very good, relieving a lot of the pressure and yet feeling more like a bicycle saddle.

The one I'm using isn't for everyone, because a lot of people say they feel like they're falling off the seat. But it's working great for me, and I think the fact that it is on an e-bike really helps! I'm able to move the seat down a couple of inches, keep it nice and level, and then it doesn't feel like I'm falling off it, and it totally relieves the pressure Meanwhile, the ebike motor makes it easy to pedal with a slightly lower seat post position.

If you have discomfort from the nose of a bike saddle, all is not lost!

@stevenast thanks for posting this thread and for the follow-up comments you offered on the other saddle thread. Since you're using this type, it would be helpful what kinds of bike geometry you're using it with (aggressive? forward leaning? multiple types?) and whether you've found it might be more suitable with one type than another. And do you find it easier or harder to manage short periods 'hands free' when cycling? When doing that, I sometimes notice I'm using inner thigh pressure to influence the bike's path. My guess is that this kind of seat feels very different to the rider. True?

Are you back??? I have missed you!

I bought a Schwinn comfort cruiser seat from Walmart. It has big springs on the top half underneath, and below them it has tight wound plunger springs. The plunger springs are the secret to a comfortable seat, they stop the rebound from hitting your bottom with the same force it started at. This type of seat is heavier, but electric bikes should make up the difference in the burden of the extra weight. Having a nose on the seat is much better for rough riding when you have to use your legs to make sure you stay positioned on your seat. I hope everyone can get a chance to see for themselves the value of using plunger springs on a seat.
