New Yamaha Owner

First day e-bike owner here. This afternoon I picked up a Yamaha Cross-Connect. After waiting for the battery to fully charge this afternoon, I managed to get a short (5 mile) ride in before it got dark. So far I am very happy with this bike. My "regular ride" is a Trek MultiTrack 750 which has been a wonderful bike for the past 26 years. This summer, I injured my knee hiking and I'm hoping the e-bike will let me get back into riding with less stress on the knee. I'll report back here when I have done a few more miles.

The Yamaha branded e-bikes are very new, so I'm probably one of the early owners. If any of you have questions about this bike, I'll be happy to share my thoughts as I become more acquainted with the bike.

Welcome to the site. I also have occasional knee problems, and being able to turn on the electricity and power home without pedaling is important to me.
Your yamaha is reputed to have an internal clutch which allows one to pedal without drag on days when you are feeling good and want the exercise.

Hi, Bob! Welcome to the EBR community. That's a nice looking bike. Early Christmas present to yourself? :) Many e-bike riders have injuries also so hopefully it'll help you as well. I look forward to hearing how it works out for you.

A real beauty of a bike. Yamaha has really been stepping up their game in this space. Hope to hear more about your personal experiences with this bike.
Happy Holidays-Enjoy!:D

Welcome to the forum, nice ride, no Yamaha dealer anywhere near me probably a good thing as I like their bikes but I need another bike like I need a hole in my head. Happy biking.

I test rode a YDX torq and really liked it.... I ended up buying a haibike trekking model but if the Yamaha had full suspension, I would have bought it instead.. Sadly I was told it will be at least 2020 until one is available

Beauty of a bike. I'm interested in this model and hope to get a chance next year to try one out. Please let us know how things go as you get it out and break it in.
