Hi!
My name is Bernie and I just bought my first eBike, a Lectric XP 2.0. I own a 950cc motorcycle but haven’t been on a bicycle in maybe 40 years. I’ve only ridden my new ebike around the block so far, just to get the feel of a peddle bike again and try out the peddle assist and throttle. I plan to take it to a large parking lot next to get more familiar with it. There is a new 6 mile bike and walking trail along the waterfront here in Eureka where I plan to ride it occasionally in place of my usual 30 minute walk I take most days. I’ve read several threads in the Lectric ebike forum and have already learned a few things. I’ve been in forums for other things like drones and motorcycles and I’ve found knowledgeable and helpful people there and I sense this will be similar. At 76 I don’t know how long I will want to ride a motorcycle but an ebike is something I can use for mild exercise and enjoyment. Thanks.

Does lectric have throttle?
You will not get exercised if you have throttle control.
Yes it has a throttle, however it does not operate automatically, and is usually used as an assist in climbing hills. I did not buy an ebike to get a vigorous workout but to get a similar level of exercise as one would get when walking. The peddle assist helps move at a faster speed than walking and you can determine the level of effort to suitable your needs.

Welcome Redwood. My wife and I are down in Bodega Bay. We only got into ebikes about 6 months ago. Previous to that we would hike in beautiful places in nature and along the coast. One of the first things I noticed when biking is we could cover so much more ground and see so much more on an ebike.

We do a lot of paths and fire roads on our e mountain bikes (eMTB)s. Have heard of a longer bike path up in Eureka that we'll want to do some time in the spring/summer. And we know some good spots to explore down here. Might have to cause our paths to cross at some point. :)

Hello Ebikers,
My name is DuWayne and I am new to the group. I ordered a new Trek Allant +8S, which should be here by the end of this year (2021). This is my first ebike. I've had an analog Trek FX 7.5 for the last 13 years and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. But, the hills are getting tougher...and I'm getting older. I still enjoy 25 - 35 mile bike rides but I could use a little assistance from time to time. I am enjoying reading all the wonderful, informative posts on this site. Most of you are far more technical than I am so I am really enjoying the information you guys are posting. Thanks a bunch! Be safe and keep those posts coming.

Welcome DuWayne I think once you get the bike helping a bit more it will put all the fun and then some back into those rides. I'll look forward to hearing your experience of it.
