New Hyper Scorpion - not all electronics working

Just received my Juiced Hyper Scorpion, but I think I have the same problem. All lights work, and so does the throttle, but voltage is flashing zero, and mph is also zero when the bike is moving.
I just got a standard message back from tech support, asking me to check fuses, connectors...etc, etc.
I performed all the checks they asked me for, but no change, so I wrote back and asked them at which point are they authorized to send me a replacement for the defective control unit they shipped me.
I mean, they know they shipped out a bunch of bikes with defective controllers.
I'm waiting the hear back from them.
Of course, there's no one answering the phone lines.
Well, so far, great marketing, but really poor tech support and customer service.
And, hey, I really love the upside-down numbers on the derailleur twist control.
Wow, I paid $3000 for this?

Well, customer service said it sounded like the wiring harness was bad, and they would send me out one ASAP, and if that didn't work, then they would send me a new controller. That was 10 days ago, and I have not received the harness yet. But, since then, I tried to ride the bike, and noticed when I shifted to 6th, 7th, and 8th gears, the chain is rubbing against the chain guard on the front sprocket! How are these guys shipping out so many defective bikes? I paid $3000 for my Hyper Scorpion, and I'm not sure if it will be running properly by next month! I may wind up returning this bike...

It's going to be the controller. They should send you both but they probably don't want to spare parts from new sales and are just delaying.

Out of curiosity check to see if your brake lights get brighter when you pull the brakes? How about the daylight portion of the headlight? A ring should light up even when the high beams are off.

Brake light gets brighter when either of the brake levers are pulled. The ring on the headlight does not light up, no matter what I do. The controller shows a headlight on the screen. The pedal assist does not seem to work, even though I can scroll through the different levels of pedal assist on the controller.
Do you know if it's going to be a big hassle if I try to return the bike for a refund?
Thanks for your response.

This has been such a horrible experience, this company has got to be the worst I have ever experienced. I can't even believe these guys! Three thousand dollars for this garbage?

Hey I spoke directly to 2 tech support people yesterday and I finally came to the conclusion that the so called tech people that are working for juiced is nothing more than a few people working the phones, these people had no clue about bikes. I mentioned about the shocks making a clanging noise and was told it’s the calipers, then when I mentioned the caliper issues, I was told i shud take it to a bike shop to have them look at it there’s nothing they can do about it. That’s the first tech so I hung up and called back half hour later. The second tech had some ideas but still clueless. I called Tektro the makers of the brake system and was told that they had advised juiced to not use this low end brake system because of the weight of the scorpion.
I was assured by juiced that I will have my controller, brakes and shocks fixed as soon as possible.lol
I told the Tech that they should look at the YouTube videos of the scorpion and assess some of the issues they are having. I’m willing to tear the bike apart but since it’s warranty for a year I guess I’ll wait until December, then contact PayPal so they can handle it

Hey take a look at Uncle Fjester YouTube channel, he’s got a ton of vids to look at. He calls the hyperscorpion a POS.

Juiced wants to charge a 20% "restocking" fee for returns, which I will gladly pay just to get rid of my Hyper Scorpion! Next time I'll do more research, and read the reviews more carefully BEFORE buying.

That’s ridiculous, I just spoke to a YouTube guy who sent his bike back to juiced and got a new replacement. Lucky for him because he lives in California, juiced actually sent a mechanic to his house to fix some of his issues, finally gave up and gave him a new bike

We're usually on the same page, JR, but not this time.

Tora has prioritized getting bikes out to the Indiegogo supporters and those who ordered the bike early on the Juiced website. He mentions this in his blog all the time, and in the multiple emails that have gone out to everyone who ordered one. Same with the regular Scorpion, which is how I know this.

You can't please all the customers all the time, so you've got to make choices. That's the one he made. I'm sure most of his customers, who have been waiting for their Hyper Scorpion for months, are pretty happy that he's shipping bikes as fast as he can. Since he's public and out front about it, no one can say they're surprised. As usual, he has set follow-up customer service lower in priority, which I have always disagreed with, but apparently it works for his business model.

He's sold boatloads of bikes. It doesn't seem to have hurt sales any. Repeat sales, maybe!
As someone who just spent $2000 on the HyperScorpion and had multiple issues (assist stop working, screen resets to crazy settings) rendering my bike useless at 30 miles, I can understand the frustration. In the end I had to calm down, work with support, and I ended up figuring out the fix (no help from support), and its working... for now. I have little faith in the bike's reliability. Every 5-10 miles seems like I have a new issue. But, I enjoy fixing things. The only thing that I can't fix is something like the controller - that's just a juiced problem. I would be pretty pissed if I wasn't able to find a fix and my brand new bike was useless.

Since posting the comment you quoted, which was based on my purchase of a Scorpion, I've also bought a HyperScorpion. (Black Friday discount made it work for me.)

I've had zero problems so far. I've got to admit that, reading the many comments like yours, I'm still a little worried even with several hundred miles on it so far.

I can only come to one of two conclusions: either I've been incredibly lucky with the 3 Juiced products I've owned (CCS, Scorpion, HyperScorpion); or else their products are consistently good, but with a significant percentage of major defects that their customer service is often inadequate to handle.

In the absence of sufficient data, I don't know which of those two conclusions is accurate. Neither does anyone else. I suspect that it's the 2nd -- mostly good, with too many failures -- but how many manufacturers ever produces the data on total units sold vs. number of defective units?

I certainly understand why people with bad experiences would decide that Juiced Bikes are all crap.

I actually got my bike working (the assist worked sometimes not others), and I was very happy, thought maybe I judged them too early. Then today I get on my bike, and no assist. I worked on it for 3 hours to get the sensor closer to the cog, and still not working. I can understand some issues, but I've got 69 miles on the bike and it works 50% of the time. And I'm someone who loves working on things, but I just can't figure this damn thing out! Grrrr. I just want a bike that works! Lol

Mine had the broken controller from the OP in this thread. My buddies Hyper had his Cadence / Torque sensor go after 800 miles do to a factory spacing issue. And my co-worker had a clanking motor that he received a replacement wheel for. We were all day one buyers so maybe their quality control is better now. All 3 or those issues could have been prevented with inspection and test runs.

@cschriefer Did you inspect the sensor for damage? It might just be damaged or a dud.

@Armchair The sensor looks ok (no visible damage). The weird part it is, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and there's no pattern to it. It makes me nervous because I can't go anywhere without the fear that the bike could just stop working at any point. The sensor is now less than a nickel width away from the first cog, but barely working. I'm chatting with someone on Reddit who had the same issue. We'll see what Juiced says next I guess.

I’ve had my hyperscorpion since August and had juiced replaced brakes controller and still have issues with my front fork, see the recent vid I sent to juiced, been speaking to them for months, love the bike, so far 500 miles ridden but with some compromises

Update - bike is fixed, but I do have a weird noise coming from the front brakes. I replaced the tires with Shinko 244s and I think that it’s causing the rotors to vibrate at speed. If I hit the front brake pads, the noise stops, and I even took off the brake and no noise while riding. When the bike it still and I spin the wheel, no contact with the pads, realigned them well, it’s only at speed. Thoughts? Hyperscorpion Front Brake Noise

Great news, What was the fix?
