Call me lakatan, 80 Years young, retired military, Vietnam vet with disabilities. I have been riding bike for many years. about 3 years ago I bought a rear wheel ebike kit and a KMart mountain bike special. The hub is rated at 800W but most likely higher. And a 48V lithium. I can run between 28 to 32 MPH on level surface. Love it and still have it. A month ago I saw some 20" fat tires running on beach sands in California. Well my MTB's tires are thinner and gets buried. So I bought an Ecotric 20" fat tire. Love it too. But it can only go 22MPH on level road. I want it to go faster so I bought a S866 display cause I read it can be programmed to go faster. The S866 has 5 pins but the 36V controller only has 4. So I match the colors but I have a yellow wire form the S866 that I do not know where to connect it to the ecotric controller. Does anyone have any suggestions so I don't burn up the controller. Thanks a million guys.

Welcome to the site. Glad you made it to retirement.
I don't know. Usually fat yellow is the 3rd phase to the motor, thin yellow is the 3rd hall effect pickup. There are a million variations of controllers. More than that displays. If you read chinese and it has labels you might be able to understand what you've got. Other than that a couple of guys here understand the KT controller.
Tech question might get more eyes under parts & accessories or diykits down at the bottom.

Hi. Thanks for the fast reply. Yea I'm kind of familiar about the fat wire to the phase and to the hall. I bought a twist throtle with a digital voltage readout. Took me about a month to figure out where to splice the wires for my bigger bike. But this one I couldn't figure out. Hey thanks. I'll try parts and accessories
