The problem people have with Falco, from what i have read, is their 4 or 5 phase motors, which require their proprietary controller, that i think is integral to the motor... And they are not too rugged. Not sure what you do if you need a new controller. Would try to buy an extra one now.

They were trying to maxiize efficiency with these motors.

How do you support that statement? The motors have a 5 year warranty and seem rugged for my usage. The built in controlled makes it a sleeker and stealthier package. It has thermal protection because it is next to the motor, so that is the biggest drawback IMO.

I do think that the controller in the motor probably isn't the best solution. Handy yes but the heat factor would seem to outweight that long term. I don't see a separate controller as an issue for very many people. Wouldn't have mattered to me.
