New e-bike owner in SF

I'm just learning about how e-bikes react, but it seems there is a certain RPM where it gives maximum assist? On all my "normal" bikes I practiced downshifting at just the right moment to maintain maximum momentum and the best cadence when starting up an incline. With this one it seems "best" is just the opposite - kick it up a gear, crank down hard on the pedals, and it will just launch you up that hill. Anybody else notice this difference? Is it just me 'cause I'm new to e-bikes?

I'm not sure how Stromer's behave. Maybe you can get more answers to your question on the Stromer forum to attract more owners of this brand and model? Though, find of course to give it time here, as who knows who might reply!

We're glad you are here--welcome! :)

I get the humor, but in reality Lombard St is one way and down hill.
Obviously never a bicycle messenger in SF. (I was.) One way streets = the fastest way to get to the next stop, regardless of traffic. Yeah, I got a couple of tickets. Never paid them. Oh the scofflaw life of a bike courier.
