So I’m repairing an e-bike and it turns on and the walk assist mode works but when I press the throttle nothing happens please help me

Not much to go on so far but I will jump in. It the throttle two wire or three? Did you check the connection? You may need to keep the connector and splice in a new throttle. The wire colors may be different so check them before you solder and seal the splice.

Do you have to pedal before the throttle will work? Aka, Non-zero start. Some bikes are like that by default. I couldn’t find anything in the manual about that.

Did you already replace the throttle?

I had an issue with my throttle cutting in and out. Turned out to be a loose connection inside the connector. There is a little clip that clips into connector housing. I must’ve bent it too much when I reworked the new throttle and it backed itself out of the connector housing. So, even though I had a solid connection of the connectors housing, the pin wasn’t making good/any contact.

If you are able to, you should also gently tug on the wires going in to the connector.

I'm not familiar with the mxt but on some bikes I've seen, the display has an option setting for the throttle. On some Pedego bikes for example, the throttle can be turned off via the display. When it is in the off position, the throttle acts as a walk assist.

Take a multimeter and check the throttle voltages to see if it's working, Pretty easy if it's a three wire throttle,

If walk mode is working and it uses throttle then electrically everything is working. Issue is with setting or how throttle is meant to work.
