NCM - STORE REQUIRED IN UK

Just thought I'd see how much interest there would be for a Leon Cycles store in the UK. From what I've read on the forum there are a lot of frustrated people trying to access spare parts and accessories for their NCM bikes.
It seems daft that people are having to source parts from Australia and America. Even the NCM website in Germany is very limited on parts on its site.
NCM have such a good range of bikes but the company is sadly lacking in aftermarket service.
It would be great if someone from NCM or Leon Cycles in Europe could contribute on the forum like they do in America.

I agree a store in the UK would be beneficial for both owners, company sales and aftermarket service. It seems Barcelona will have a store soon. The company seems to have great product ethics by providing good parts and overall bicycles for an accessible price.
I compared my bike to UK brands which would have local support and NCM was still a more attractive choice. It is also true that there is frustration in delayed communication and availability or defects. I'm actually currently suffering from that. I'm sure the company would be able to make the jump in company image with local support, but then again if sales can actually support the investment and the nearing Brexit deadline with all effects on trade.

NCM bikes are as legal in Europe as in the UK. Limitations of maximum attainable speed of 25km/h are set by default.

I recently had an issue with the Bottom Bracket on my new NCM Moscow. To their credit they have agreed to pay for repair. The process of e-mailing them was a bit slow though.

Quite agree with RJC. Support in the UK is flaky to say the least. Communication is slow and at times a waste of time. Accessories hard to get hold of and usually entail buying from Australia, Canada or the USA. Which is a bit daft as we are still part of the EU.

I wonder who buys the Chinese crap in the UK when so many respected brands target their e-bikes primarily at Europe.
It was a rhetoric remark (requires no answer).

I think many UK brands use exactly the same chinese components as NCM and charge a lot more money. A quick comparison between similar models and brands such as: Volt, Woosh, Juicy, etc. can show this reality.
I did that same comparison before deciding to go ahead with my purchase. Despite some faults I'm still happy with what I've got as it still is better value for money.

I meant Specialized, Giant, Trek, Bulls, KTM, Riese & Muller, Merida. Moustache, BH... Respected.
Europe gets far better models from these brands than North America. I understand it is hard to save up money for a good e-bike but you get what have you paid for.

NCM e-bikes are illegal in Europe.
No the bikes Ncm sell in the UK are totally legal ! They have the correct restrictions in place. There are ways of bypassing these but that applies to a lot of ebikes. Anyway off subject, i agree that we need a UK shop for parts and accessories.

I was advised by NCM that they were going to be updating their UK website this spring. Lets hope so !

Leon Cycles were planning on opening a store in Wigan - got as far as shop sign but no stock and never actually opened. Shame as I love my Moscow+, just can't get a replacement battery for love nor money (mine's died and Leon Cylces won't replace as bike is 18 months old so out of warranty, even though not used during lockdown). Not available in the UK and can't get one shipped to UK at moment. An outlet in the UK would therefore be brilliant.

Hey check out some threads where I ordered a battery from Aijiu Power, I am going to post a review of it when it arrives. But price is way less than any other vendor and they are using good Samsung cells. I also don't know about Leon UK but replacement batteries from Leon in Canada are available via their website and not badly priced either (but still more expensive than Aijiu). Jenny Mao is the sales rep and she's a member here.

On the other hand it sucks the battery has died so early and no way to get a replacement. Chances are if your battery is failing so early in it's life it's just a bad cell or even just a broken connection inside. They are quite dangerous to open if you aren't comfortable with the power involved so I wouldn't but there are people that can repair your battery pack, just how to find someone and keep the cost affordable as shipping batteries is expensive.

A store is need. Am being fobbed about by the guys in Germany.. and it's getting ridiculous.
