I've had my RipCurrent for 2 years now. Really have enjoyed it. Just recently it now forgets my settings after I turn it off. When I turn it on next time it's back to factory defaults and I have to reenter the units to miles, the tire size, the max speed, etc. They're saying they can provide me with a replacement controller display at a discount, but I haven't received a price quote yet. Anyone else experience this after only a couple years?

I experienced the same issue 2 weeks ago at 1700 miles. I did not touch the display and after being back from my ride the odometer reading was zero. Would like to program it to add the 'lost' mileage.My odometer reset after about 2000 miles. But it didn’t reset the entire settoing, just the odometer started at 0.

If you have the same LCD controller as I do, you can change the odomoteter mileage. Press + and - at the same time for a few seconds to open settings. Then press the power button a few times to get down to Odo Set. There you can set it. Then press Power to accept the change.I experienced the same issue 2 weeks ago at 1700 miles. I know two guys who bought their RCSs at the same time and always ride together, so they have roughly the same mileage in their two bikes, which is about 1500 miles. I was showing one of them how to reset the trip meter, and the next day, he told me his odometer reset to 0 too. Everytime he would reenter his bike's total mileage on the odometer, it would act like it was reset, then it would zero out by itself. Over several days he kept having this happen, then his reentry mileage finally stuck. THEN, the other RCS owner started having the same problem, except he never tried resetting the trip meter and never touched the odometer before this. I have always reset my trip meter after every ride. I wonder if that causes some type of wear down of the memory, leading to me now always losing my settings. Started happening after about 950 miles. I may just leave the trip meter alone when I receive the new display. All I can say is; Every time I watch a new Juice Bikes Tora video, I comment to Tora if he will please give the RCS ECU some attention as owners are having some display memory loss issues and some minor drivetrain issues that should be addressed. Asking Juiced cs doesn't seem to help at all, so I go directly to the man, especially on videos where he's introducing new products. I ask nicely, not to be rude, and sometimes he responds, so I know he's reading what I write. I suggest others with these bike issues do the same. It seems Juiced has put the RC and CC on the back burner while he pushes the scorpian and scrambler and the new Torrent. Just kidding about the last one, but wouldn't ya think he'd use that name?

No issue yet, I reset the trip counter, when I recharge the battery. My display though has fungus growing inside, so at some point I won't be able to read important info and will need a new display. 1400 mi, so far.

I'd like an RCS--2 with a dual battery option and either a proper suspension fork or a good solid fork. Probably a few other things as well; more torque for inclines would help. Most likely I'll have to build my next bike, just not seeing what i want for sale in the US, but a couple euro bikes I would like to try although the prices are high. I was hoping my next bike would be my last bike for 5 or more years... but that is looking very hard right now even though the tech all exists.

Bolton Ebikes and Luna both sell what they say is a top notch air suspension fork that should fit the RCS for low $$$. The Bolton looks like a better fork than the OEM Mozo and the Luna, and you can talk to Kyle or his wife about it at Bolton ebikes. There are also forks on Ali Express, but can get more expensive. Just some thoughts.

TAB does not help on the inclines I have encountered these are typically not very long but steep as they are on off road trails. I need torque which does not exist at the low end of the speed range typically being used on trails. When my bike was delivered, the assembler-child in China installed the back wheel incorrectly putting both flat axle washers one one side and the 2 spacers on the outside of the frame instead of the inside. Due to the weird spacing, my torque sensor wasn't working (it needs to be with 4-5mm I believe of the wheel to work properly). I've seen two other RCSs with similar issues. The cadence sensor was working on all of them tho. It wasn't until I shut off the torque sensor at the LCD before I found out I had been robbed of the torque my bike had. I posted about this same kit quite a while back. I'm not likely to change the motor on the RCS, but i may expand the battery capacity. I was actually going to build a similar kit, but then i found a cheap second battery on ebay. This winter i will be looking at doing something to increase battery capacity, i bought a big triangle battery i may adapt as a second battery.Got it!
