My RipCurrent controller display keeps resetting to default settings

Well not great news. I installed the new LCD display controller and I'm still having the same problem! I'm guessing there is some external circuit or battery problem which would even cause a new controller to lose its settings at every power on. But I haven't heard from Juiced with any new ideas yet. It stinks having to reprogram the display every time I use the bike. The buttons will likely wear out quicker from all the extra clicking.

That is very strange. cable shorting maybe. if you set it, but don't move the bike or handle bars in any way and come back later is the setting still lost?

one other theory is the display is tightened too tight to the handlebar and pressure on the structure is affecting the display operation.

Thanks. Interesting theories. I went out there and hooked up the battery, this time the display did not lose its settings. Even moving it around and twisting the handle bars and powering down and back on several times, it didn't fail. Very strange how unpredictable it is. All without having changed anything. Scratching my head.

I investigated some wires under the top of the down tube. There was a connection in there and I checked it and pushed the ends together again tightly.

As for the tightness of the display mount, I had made it loose enough originally so I could still rotate it on the bar with some firm pressure, but I'll try loosening the screws a turn or two.
