This reminds me of a story from my youth. My brother and I had just built a gas minibike from parts that we cobbled up from yard sales. I took it for a spin first, going easy on the throttle and just enjoying the ride. My brother was born a daredevil, though. He gets on the bike, and twists the throttle wide open. Fun, but the throttle stuck. Wide open. He bailed off of it right before it hit a telephone pole. He was fine, as he landed in the grass. The minibike's fork was cracked in two. And that was the end of the fun for the day.I recall and a reminded of the youthful enthusiast in Manitoba who invented 'Zip Tie Cruse Control'. He thought it was the greatest. He zip tied his throttle at full open, leaving it there. And he would shut it off by hitting a brake cut-out lever. Then we suddenly never heard from him again. The implication is that he got himself self-weeded from the genepool garden. I am taking the CHP Electric Bike Safety and Certification Class today. Cut-out levers are a known point of failure.
