Misadventure on Aventure

My new Aventure turned 100 miles today, 34 miles this week.

pilot error.
I have been trying to ride at lower levels at times, riding some with no motor, or lower levels 1,2. To get a better workout.
I was riding slow and hit a steep hill. Not going fast, level 1. I was going very slow, missed pedal stroke, changed pas to 4. Hit the petals. The effect was the same effect as a wheelie. Unloading the front wheel till it came off the ground. shifting my weight and dropped it before I could catch it.
I have been hitting hills with more speed. No problems climbing hills. Bike seems ok, but battery cut off once afterwards. Came back on no problem. Test it further tomorrow. Knocked a little bark off my elbow.

From now on hit steep hills faster. And start off very carefully on steep hill. Especially on higher pas levels.

All part of the learning curve. Try just using a gear higher than you expect to need - you can still plod up hills carefully , and have the added advantage of being able to get weight forward with less fear of wheelspin.

I was on pavement. So it got traction, better off with wheelspin in this case. Definitely use higher geer on steeper hills from now on.

Sorry, although I presume the techniques translate? ( riding pavement scares me - sharing space with vehicles etc)

Im constantly amazed at how well ebikes can climb.

Vehicles scare me too, not many options very close. I ride a lot in low, al.ost no traffic. Hilly subdivisions. I live about 7 to 8 mi from a 20 plus mile greentrail. I plan to ride when I csn. I ride faster on main roads, but no bike lanes here. Not a very bike friendly area.

Good to know - I wouldn't have expected the results. Did you mean to go to PAS 4? I don't go above 3 very often but I probably should just to get a feel for what could happen.

Yes , I was coming almost to a dead stop(not intentionally). Very steep hill. Pas 4 too much, surprised .me. I don't usually hit a hill that slow , Especially a steep hill
