Milano Plus Power Problem

I have a Milano Plus that the power randomly cuts off while peddling without any reason regardless of the level of PAS its at. The ebike was purchased in July 2021 and no maintenance has been needed or done on it. I checked every connection and they all look fine. From my understanding this ebike is very similar in parts as the T720 and T1000.

Also, I forgot to mention the display module lights up fine, however the center MPH show as 0 regardless of how fast I'm peddling. Plus when I press the throttle the MPH jumps just briefly to show 40 MPH but remains at 0. I wonder if there is a way to reset the entire ebike setting using a special code or similar.

Has anyone experienced this? I contacted the warranty company and am waiting on a reply. Thanks.

Sounds like a loose connection somewhere. Check the battery mounting bracket 1st. Your battery &
connection is different from my moscow, but if the battery feels the least bit loose when mounted
that could the best case scenario. Not so if it is a loose spot weld in the battery, which i suspect.
Get the battery tested, An auto parts store can probably do that if you´ve not the means. If it is the
battery you´ll have send it back & get another. This does seem to be a random issue with various
batteries. does this only occur when riding?

Thank you for your reply. I agree that it could be a connection somewhere. I have 2 milano plus's and swapped out the battery with the other "good" milano plus but the "bad" milano plus still turns off with the alternate battery after 5-10 minutes of peddling. Also, I forgot to mention display module lights up fine, however the MPH show as 0 regardless of how fast I'm peddling. Also, when I press the throttle the MPH appears and jumps just briefly to show 40 MPH.

Hi. I have the NCM Moscow Plus. I experienced similar issues with it. No speed display and random power cut off to the motor. I was able to resolve my issues. Here's what I did:

Speedometer: The connection between the C7 display and the controller is a male / female connector that has 7 or 8 pins in it, can't recall exact number. When I disconnected the cables, I noticed that one of the male pins was was bent to the outside of the housing, therefore it was not making a connection to the female plug. These pins are very thin and can easily get bent. I gently straightened the pin and gently put the connector back together and now the speedometer works.

Motor cut off: I went through the troubleshooting guide that NCM provides (check all plug connections, ensure that pedal assist red LED flashes, disconnect the brake cutoff cables, checked for damaged wires at controller, battery level above 41 volts). Still having the same issue. then, during a recent ride, I rode over some rough, washboard type terrain and noticed that the motor came on briefly. I suspected a loose or broken wire somewhere. During that same ride, for whatever reason, I thought to give the battery a closed fist light tap on the side. Lo and behold, the motor worked, briefly. I repeated that gently slap a few times and every time, the motor would come back on.
So, I thought it must be the cable that connects the battery to the controller. As I was preparing to get access to that cable, under the battery trough, I had a peek at the pins that connect the battery to the trough. I noticed that the metal pieces in the two holes on the female connector on the battery looked worn. Possibly providing a loose connection to the system explaining why the power comes back when I struck the battery. I gently nudged the metal sides on the battery holes to make them narrower and reconnected the battery.
And much to my enjoyment, it fixed everything. All works as it should now!!!

Might be worth a look in your case.

Good luck!

still turns off with the alternate battery after 5-10 minutes of peddling.
Since the speedometer is reading 0, the controller thinks the bike is stationary, and shutting down after 5min, just like it would if you stopped.
I'm dealing with the same problem on a neighbours e-trike.
