Magura MT5 -EBT plug

I have an issue with the plug which fits on the brake assembly reservoir. The plastic head snapped off just about where the threads end on the plug. Any suggestions or guidance on removal would be greatly appreciated. I have posted an image of the broken off plug inside the brake assembly and new plugs below.

get a set of easyouts available at any hardware store or Napa and use the smallest one to extract the plug in your brakes. Be extremely careful when drilling out the remaining plug to insert the easyout, that you do not penetrate all the way through and get metal filings in your reservoir.

Yes, I have the ones that Craftsmen makes, however, I was hesitant to use them thinking there was a possibility of damaging the threads inside reservoir hole. I was under the impression that it was made of a plastic composite material inside. I also see there are different sizes with tapered ends. The trick is finding the right size. Looks like micro-surgery to me . ;)
If all else fails, I may have to get a new lever assemble from Magura. I also reached out to their tech support, and they seem like they have great c/s comm. Thanks Richard!
 
The torque rating is 3Nm for that screw. You must have applied a dramatically larger amount of force for the head to snap off.

Not critiquing here, but just mentioning so that others don’t fall into the same trap...
Actually I received replacement plugs and it indicates the torque rating is at 0.5 Nm, if you can believe that. Yes they are quite delicate, so you have to use extreme caution when working with them. Unfortunately, I have learned the hard way on this one.:rolleyes:

Perhaps these are the correct ones starting with the smallest?
