Upon noting that the on/off and headlight dimmer switches didn't do what the Addmotor manual for this trike said they should do, I inquired of Addmotor. Here is their reply:
Sorry for the late reply.
We just confirmed this problem with our factory.
The rocker and switch both control the headlight on/off.
The brightness of the headlight cannot be adjusted.

I hope Addmotor, at minimum, sends out a notification to registered owners informing them of this anomaly, and provides an addendum to the trikes manual to save future new owner some time in trying to figure out the problem.
