Losing proposition dealing with Bosch

@Over50 It’s a good way to go and a good indicator of how serious a retailer is.

Most people focused on DIY will usually look down upon Bosch, but the reality is it’s the most reliable and supported ebike system out there. It’s not a system designed for the end user to work on, not unlike most sophisticated tech these days.

That being said, there is little outside of updating the system and running diagnostics that can’t be done by anyone skilled in basic bike maintenance.
That’s obviously a great attitude for a reseller of Bosch bike’s. However, some of us do waddle through system updates and running diagnostics. Very basic stuff in today’s motorized world. I live 120miles from a Bosch dealer. And I’m denied access from performing routines common in programing controllers and flashing firm wear. If resellers and DIY folks ever quit pointing fingers and work to promote an open, or more open, source motor... BBSHD is the only accessible motor, but being completely bungled by the manufacturer. Maybe it’s just me pouting , two mid drives I really like but none on a frame I like, except a Townie.
