This bike has been under development for awhile and seems to be making a play for a market share: https://newatlas.com/erockit-pedal-operated-electric-motorcycle/60114/

Clearly not something that could ever be considered to fit into any eBike classification as it is just way to overpowered to even be considered. Although with the full lighting kit and moto rims/tires it should fit into the moto classification and be able to use roads with proper licensing/registration/insurance. But the elephant in the room is why the bike even has pedals on it if that is the case? Obviously they use some sort of sensor that activates the power output via them going round but with as little effort as it seems to take there appears to be no physical benefit from them. If they hope to get around restrictions by having them the other aspects of the bike as I said preclude that option and do a disservice to the eBike community by trying to fit in that slot.

At 265lbs. you had better hope to never run out of battery and I suppose if you have paid $12.5k for one you could afford a tow but efforts like this seem mis-guided and yet they tend to get all the press they need.

I kind of like everything, but the pedals. With DOT style equipment, 22+ horsepower and 6.6 kWh battery it would make it a good commuter. I just don't understand the pedals. I've owned motorcycles most my life and I see turning cranks on something this big, heavy and powerful as dangerous. I doubt this will appeal to traditional motorcyclists, ebikers or cyclists.

I like it, and is German made , quality is almost guaranteed allthough many of its parts are probably coming from China/Taiwan.

If you look closely or in slow replay, it has 2 belt drives , not sure why, but the engineering looks good.
The price seems fair for what amount of tech. It has. A 6-700wh battery is 7-800$ .
This one has a 6.6kw pack !!
Is just 3k extra then a Stromer St5 and goes 2x faster and much , much longer range. Won’t need to carry a half a dozen 500wh Battery packs for a 130mile ride @25mph avg.

They probably added the pedals , so that they can call it a PAS ebike, it would be an R pedelec -45mph. S pedelec is -28mph.
But is clearly a lower powered e motorcycle. With the pedals someone can also get some exercise on a 50mile ride/commute.
The weight is a lot but I don’t know it feels handling one like that, never rode motorcycles or heavier ebikes then 65lb.
