Lights

My new electric conversion has two spade connectors on the Bafang motor which are for lights. I've wired them up and they worked great, but not for long. Can anyone tell me why they are blowing. The motor is 750w and the battery is 48v. Is this too much for small bulbs? I've tried 12v bulbs but the light is too weak on the front

You need to measure the open circuit voltage on you two spade terminals. then buy a lamp rated at that voltage. If you decide to use LED's which draw about 1.5 or 2 v, then you need a dropping resistor in series to limit the current to what the LED's can stand. I current=v/r. v is how much voltage you need to drop, open circuit voltage minus 2. You'll need a datasheet on the LED to determine rated current.

My bafang light connecter showed 6V and came with street legal 10 lumin head light.
My Iphone has a better light. I removed the LED and put a 400 lumin 6V flash light LED
in, NOW I have LIGHT! The woods is dark on the ride home.

Nice in the woods, evil in the city with opposing traffic. In which case a German StVZo rated headlamp performs as well as a properly focused cage headlight. You can see the roadway at a safe distance and don't blind oncoming traffic. BTW I rock a 1000w 18650 battery CREE light for the dark empty roads.

NICE light! I use the same type of light for my dive light.
Almost tooo much light underwater, bleaches colors to white
for photos.
