Level shock absorbers

I passed 1,400 miles on my Aventon Level. I am very pleased with this bike, but I just noticed that the shocks are very stiff. I thought that they were locked out, but they were not. I compared them to my daughter’s Specialized hard tail, and, alas,something is amiss. Is there’s way to adjust the shocks?

Also, I don't know what you mean by "stiff", but if you think it's not moving smoothly, then you might need to apply forklube.
Just like chain, you should be applying fork lube every once in a while.
When it's completely dry, my fork does feel like it's locked out too.

By “stiff” I mean it feels the same with or without lockout. The LBS lubed the shocks but they almost immediately froze again. I brought it back again and they refused to fix the problem. I emailed Aventon and explained the problem a month ago and they have chosen to ignore me. The young man at the bike shop, who is twice my size and a third my age is able to push the shocks down. So the LBS and Aventon are stonewalling me. What I am going to do tomorrow is to warn the LBS that I will dispute the charges with the bank and return the bike. I am sick of this rampant immorality and failure to stand behind the product.

Your daughter might have an air fork. You have a coil spring fork. Lockout is the blue knob on the right. On the left side is the adjustment for the spring. Have you adjusted it?
