Kiox Upgrade

I have a Bosch Smartphone Hub currently but just received a retrofit kit for the Bosch Kiox to upgrade. Looking at the connectors and wiring they are exactly the same. How difficult would it be to retrofit this to my ebike myself? Any idea if this is a plug and play deal or need a dealer to set up?

Hey Guys, thought I would use this post instead of making a new one. I have the Smartphone hub installed right now. I like some of the aspects to it, but I prefer to ride with a small display. I want to get the Kiox display put in - is this hard to do as a newb? Should I just buy a retrofit kit or should i just get the display by itself and the mount (the controller looks to be the same)? Thanks for your help!

PS one of the reasons i want the kiox over the SPH is that the SPH doesn't store trip information history. It will only store it for 24 hours. I also like the lower profile and the anti-theft ability. Thanks

If you pair cobi.bike with Strava, the smartphone hub with cobi.bike will upload your trip information to Strava at the end of your ride if you "finish" the ride. You do that by holding the mileage number for a few seconds so a new screen pops up.

Does this help?

@retiredNH - Thank you for that! I didn't know that. I've never used Strava before, but it seems that it's a good way to store all your information. That's what i was looking for :)

Hi Guys, sorry to repost, but I think I'm going to jump on a kit i found online and try to install it (kiox).

Does anyone know if the mount will work with an adjustable stem?

Also, I'm trying to figure out how to get the wires out of the SFH, I looked in the manual and it says there's a universal mount that slides onto it. Does anyone know if I can get to the wires from there easily and if it's easy to put those into the kiox? (They use the same controller and wiring diagrams).

I'm only switching for personal tastes, not for functionality. I just wanted the small form factor and I like putting my phone away while biking. If I cant use the adjustable stem though, that might be a deal breaker (fingers crossed 🤞🤞)

Thanks All!

here is the wiring harness for the nyon. the kiox has the same wire setup they re angled and overlap.
I don't know if they us the same wiring. but as far as mounting an adjustable stem may be out you cant have a lot of angle on the stem and you need the star nut to mount the kiox.

Thanks for the info @fooferdoggie . Looks Like i'll have to stick with the SPH for now. IT's not a bad unit, I just prefer having my phone up and the basic display is a little bare bones. Thanks again.
