Joyisi battery

I'm sure everyone is wondering about cheap Chinese battery pack for DIY project.

Looks like it's an okay pack for basic ebikes. :D

I've been running this 48v/13Ah Joyisi battery equipped with LG M26 cells (13s5p) since December 2018.

It's been a solid performer for over 4000 miles. I move it between my Electra Townie and Mongoose Envoy. Both bikes are equipped with the same Bafang 500w SWX02 motors and 18A controllers from Bluenergy. The battery still performs like new giving between 30-50 miles per charge .

Below 50v you do see some sag on hills. More so with the Mongoose as it's a heavy bike - particularly when loaded with cargo.

The 2A charger is indeed heavy. I suspect there is a large heat sink in the case.

My only glitch was that a plastic piece of a screw boss in the case had chipped off. I opened and patched with JB Weld, then reinstalled the screw. No rattles since.

So it's powered by LG cells?

In the video, he made it sound like Jyoisi will give you some kid of no-name brand cells.

The brand cell loadings are by listing and size. So, some Joyisi batteries are loaded with Chinese domestic, while others brand cells - typically LG or Samsung. You have to check the listing for your size and cell brand.

I was careful to choose a battery with LG and it was priced higher.

While not as thorough as Micha's inspection, I have opened the case and verified they are labeled LG M26 cells.
