Issue - hardly any Pedal Assist power happening...

Hi, looking for some help / advice please.. I have a Zipper Z6, 21-Speed Pedal Assist E-bike c/w 36v / 10AH Battery & 250W motor. Its recently decided to play up, as when pedaling, the power only seems to last for approx a 1/2 a revolution, then nothing - and this repeats the whole time. I thought it may have been the Battery as i'd lost the charge port cover so thought some moisture might have got in. I got a new battery for it, but the exact same things happening... I can see some power showing on the LCD display which changes from fairly high to low digits when pedaling (although the power rating is only in double figures).. Other than replacing the Pedal Assist Sensor (which i'm about to try and which is what i'm hoping is causing this issue) - does anyone have any thoughts about what the issue could potentially be please? Check the walk mode on the display and see if the motor power is continuous. I believe current UK ebikes don't have throttles? That would be another way to see. I think you're on the right course to look at the PAS sensor.

I did have one ebike with same problem, On again, off again pedal assist, I looked at the PAS sensor and found the disk loose/slipping on the axle. Changed it and all was well, but it soon returned after less than 100 miles. Not enough gap between the pedals and frame, The disk was pressed up right against the sensor and the friction caused its splines to eventually break loose from the axle, Also wore a groove in the disk, Increased the gap. It's OK now.

There are smaller self-contained PAS sensors available, but you still need enough space on your axle to accommodate it, and it may not be compatible with every controller/ebike,..
