Is Voltbike still around?

Welp, after a dozen more calls I managed to get through to them three times.

-The first time George lied to me and said he would contact me the following day after talking to a mechanic who I do not believe exists. He did not do so.
-The second time he said he had forgotten and would send me an email within an hour, he did not.
-The third time I talked to a new assistant who said that she would have George return my call. He did not.

I have not had my bike for the entire summer because of Voltbikes shady garbage and the company that was holding my bike is now telling me to pick it up because of their inability to contact the manufacturer to get parts support. It does not appear like I will be able to have this bike fixed at all.

Voltbike is a terrible company and deserves a terrible reputation. They do not have product support and the company is literally one dude dodging phone calls and reselling chinese bikes he can not service. His assistant accidentally confirmed that he IS the company and the company is him in our conversation.

Had I known any of this I would never have gone with this company and I warn anyone else to cancel an order with them if they have one. They sell lemons and then ghost on you.

Sometimes that's the price you pay for purchasing online. Endless running around, frustration and no one to talk to.

I'm not familiar with how the motor is integrated into the Enduro so this may be a dumb question, but is it possible or even feasible to pull the existing motor and replace it with a new one?

Yeah, I was hoping to avoid it though, it's a pretty substantial cost. I'll probably try and take it apart myself first.

Yes you can buy and replace a new one. I've taken the plates off to inspect connections, per George's instructions on the 1st bike, and it's only a few wires to disconnect.

I've actually managed to find a good amount of documentation on frame/engine installation. It seems pretty easy as long as you're competent with the in-tube wiring. Voltbike has a guide on its website.
 
The plates under the battery are easy to take off. Every hole has a different size screw so pay attention to where they go. It was one master cable and a battery wire from the connector. Plus the light wire... I feel for you friend. Hope it works out.
 
Got the engine open myself to check the clutch and it definitely is totaled. The teeth broke out and one of them had been grinding around inside the gearing so that's a piece I'll have to replace as well. Getting into the motor was pretty annoying, they used loctite on every single screw so removing them without stripping them wasn't easy. The CAD video for the moto construction was also incomplete and out of order, but it was still pretty helpful.

Now I just have to find a place that can replace these parts. If anyone knows how to contact BAFANG that would be really helpful, my phone calls haven't worked well so far.

A lot of these small bike companies are the same.......Juiced is the same as Voltbike and a lot of the hundreds of other small/startup bike companies are the same. Both Juiced and Voltbike have smart owners (both engineers) and real bike enthusiasts and a lot of them put out good products but these people are generally poor at business and marketing. I currently have a Pedego and a Haibike, both great bikes with good warranties and customer service, I'm looking for another bike to satisfy my addiction but the risk of trying for weeks to have a phone call answered scares me so I'm waiting until things turn around. I don't know how long I can resist buying a Yukon 750 or Crosscurrent X though.......
 
I have never had a issue getting Volt on the phone or answering my E-mails. I purchased a Yukon 750lt and an Elegant for my Wife. Took delivery at the beginning of Aug. and any issue I have had has been handled in a timely manner.

I thought the charger for the Yukon went belly up I E-mailed Volt and received two E-mails back, one from George the owner. Of course as soon as I E-mailed them the charger began working again and has never given me any trouble since. I even got a thank you E-mail after I told them the problem solved itself.

When purchasing the bikes I called several times with questions and always got someone on the phone. Maybe I just got lucky.

Nope, I called once and hung up when I got voicemail. George himself called me back a minute later. Two other times I called and spoke with him, probably 10 minutes each conversation and I didn't feel rushed. From what I've seen and heard, they could do better with email replies, but I think they get a LOT of those that are spec related to stuff that can be found on their site and real customer concerns can get lost in the shuffle.
 
I live 10 minutes away from Voltbike and have visited twice in person. George was always accommodating and friendly. The warehouse he showed me was packed to the ceiling with back orders so yes they are very busy. Bikes felt nice if heavy. I will be testing other brands to compare.

I am still on fence as what bike to buy be it voltbike or not. I like the fact that to me at least they are very near and if I have an issue I can go in person.
