Is AMFLOW The Thing Or Just A Hype?

It does seem to bode well. I wonder if the delay in launching in US is because they were aware of possible tariffs (Now landed of course) & because of the drone/spying issue over there? Heard the Ford CEO recently on a podcast talking about Chinese EVs and how fantastic they are! Said he'd driven his daughter around Europe in one to test it. Seems the Chinese are very far ahead with battery tech.
👍

Specialised have stuck with the removable battery, I'm just not buying one stuck in there, I'm always charging off bike, especially on holiday.
It's a complete deal breaker.

Yeah, hmm, I was thinking about that too, Charge… Having had a battery fire among all other kinds of electro-flaws, I’m not sure this is a deal-breaker for me. I suspect Amflow may change this down the road, but I’d hate to have to bring the whole bike indoors every time to charge it. Also, I use my fireplace to charge my ebike battery now, and that beautiful bike just isn’t going to fit in there. :D :D

I mean, Amflow has the irremovable battery and it is the deal breaker for you? Because Levo 4 has a removable battery that you can charge off the bike.

Twice the price for a less powerful motor
That's assuming that the dominant factor in what makes a great e-bike is the nominal power output of the motor. In fact I'd argue that in most realistic riding conditions and you have a restricted e-bike the power output is very far down the list of factors you should care about.

Looks very promising and there are a few things which I like as a mechanic

The software for power production is now the most important, basically they are trying their best to replicate the absolute superiority of the throttle with start boost, overuns and virtual traction control, that's what attracted me to the Avinox, the s-works is just a ridiculous price, I could buy two perfectly good Japanese motorcycles for that.

I'm only loving it because bikes are coming out, I'm not dropping 12 grand on a bike with a non removable battery.
