Intermittent cut of power of Moscow

Could someone help?
I was replacing my rear brake pads and disconnect the battery connector, as show in picture 1, and later connect it. But now when it intermittently powers off and even when it is on, there is no more display of the current speed, shown in picture 2.
Is it due to a improper connection of the connector or what is other cause?
I had no problem when I did the tire replacement last time.
Thanks in advance!

It has to be the connection. Take it off and check for broken or bent pins. If OK, reconnect and make sure it is well seated.

Sorry...don't see anything obvious that's wrong
At the very start of the reconnection after the replacement of the pads, I did had a hard time connecting it, and twisted one of the pins and misplaced it. But I was able to correct that, and then there came this power off problem. Not sure if I damaged something.

The internal connection to the pin might have been damaged contributing to this problem, but it seems to me from your first photo that the connectors may not be fully engaged. The left connector has an arrow pointing to the right with a line to the right. The right connector has an arrow pointing left. The connectors do not meet at the line. To me this implies that the connectors were not fully engaged. This could also contribute to the problem.

That could be the problem, so I will have to be very careful go adjust them. Never had this issue before. Thanks

I don't know if you resolved this, but I have to agree with Sierratim that from your picture it doesn't look like you have the male and female connectors completely mated. As he said, they should come right up to that line to the right of the right pointing arrow to be properly seated. Here's a picture of mine:

No, I tried it today, no good.
I compared mine with yours, I see the difference. I will try it now and hope it works. Thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot. It works now. I wasn’t understanding what you referred this morning until Fred pointed it out. Thank you so much!

Thanks Fred, it worked now. I believe I was too careful to fully engage the two connector heads. Thanks a lot!

Good to hear you got it working. Did the brake pad change go okay? I'll be changing mine soon, but I was under the assumption I did not need to remove the wheel. Is that really necessary? Do you have a pointer to the replacement pads?

Fred,

If you ride the Moscow Pus with the hydraulic brakes you will need to remove the wheel to replace the brakes as the hydraulic pistons will need to be reset.

I find it really hard to change the pads if not removing the wheel. So is the front brake. The brake works good now. I test it today, it feels like a new bike. Lol. But you definitely may be cautious, i remember somebody posted a comment somewhere saying that you can’t adjust rear brake pistons as they do auto adjustment. You may find the post and keep an eye on that.

It seems very difficult to change the pads if not removing the wheel for Moscow. Do you know how to do that?

I see you have standard Moscow - I changed my brake pads easily by taking the whole brake mechanism of the fork - just unfasten the two bolts holding it in place . You could leave the brake cable attached but I take it off as it will need adjusting with the new pads in place anyway .
I have now upgraded to hybrid hydraulic brakes ( use existing cables but hydraulic in the actual brake mechanism ) - with those I can just lift out the pads with brakes in situ - very quick and easy . Improved braking and easier to adjust too.

I have a pair of these calipers on there way.
Did you use the spacers that came with the calipers, or the original spacers?

Thanks. How do you upgrade the brake system? I am thinking to do that as well. Do you have any instruction video or resources.

I used Zoom xtech HB-100 hybrid hydraulic brakes , reasonably cheap on eBay, even cheaper on Ali express . Very easy to install - loosen brake cable fastener on old brake , undo the two bolts holding the old brake to the fork and remove it . Replace with the new brake ( it’s the same size and fittings ) , fit the brake cable to new brake and adjust / fine tune as needed . About 10 minutes per brake in total .

Full hydraulics are possible , but more hassle and I’ve been very happy with the hybrids .
