Interceptor Battery Housing

The black plastic battery housing on my wife's Interceptor is cracked and I can hear rattling if I shake it. I understand this is a replaceable item and the LBS has two in stock ($39.95 CDN). Is this re/re something that can be done at home.....just a friction fit connection etc? I'd rather not have to drop it off and have them do it and then return another day as they're so busy plus it won't be free.

This is NOT the black plastic sleeve that the battery slides into on the bike, its the housing that has the reflector on the back and the holes at the front where the electrical contacts are.
