Can anybody who was lucky enough to be at Interbike this year tell us if Juiced Riders had some kind of presence there. Any news would be much appreciated!

Tora et al were there but they didn't have a booth. (Apparently, having a booth is extremely expensive. Pedego, Felt didn't have a booth either).

Coming back,
I met with Tora and Lenny ordered couple of 32Ah bikes. But, the biggest highlight was, they are releasing a model called "Cross Current" which I think will simply blow away the competition.
MSRP: $1499

Battery: 48V, 8.8Ah
Top speed: 28mph
Tektro Dorado Hydraulic disc brakes
Torque sensing PAS.

Not sure what motor they are using, but basic approach is like the E3 Dash, but $1500 cheaper.

That CrossCurrent looks like it matches the specs of the 2016 IZIP E3 Dash at half the cost! Wow!

Edit: Whoops, looks like @Bike_On said the same thing hours ago!

Not enough information to determine whether this is a good performing bike or a good value or just using lower cost componentry to hit a price point. It is highly unlikely that this bike will be a Dash twin at half the cost. I'm not knocking this bike as it may have appeal to a certain market segment that is cost conscious, not cycle saavy enough to appreciate the performance of better componentry, or those whose riding requirements are met by the offering.

Interbike was showing a lot of utility e-bikes with baskets, platforms, enclosures, and even folding ebikes. It all adds up to an expanding product category......a good thing for consumers.

I've talked to a few oem/odm manufacturers and there is a wide gamut of configurations available for quality, price, performance, and style. As ebike demand grows, the field will become more and more crowded. Plus, as the market matures, the financially weak companies will fail, the upstarts that have demand will be acquired, and price points will come down.

I worry about the LBS as they face unrelenting margin erosion from online dealers and even online vendors. There is even some experimentation going on in the bike industry with vendors voicing interest in direct sales.

Guys,

Tora is a former Olympian, triple NCAA champion and World Cup bronze medalist (and Princeton graduate). He is one of the most passionate and dedicated person in the E-bike industry.

Do your research!

When you're on internet, you'll see all kinds of charlatans on public forums. Recently, someone named "Infinity and still rolling" called our store saying he has a company called "Pedelec Corp" that does corporate sales and got us into lot of trouble. We heard similar things from BH Easy Motion guys. I really don't want to bring any company folks or forum admins into this kind of egoistic power struggle game.

When you read about a person, google them. Try find out the background. Is that a credible guy or snake oil salesman.
Don't get into power struggle on forums like this. Power and ego trips don't do any good. Solid info saves you a lot of time and money.

I rode this Cross Current at the Interbike and liked it. I also happened to meet the owner of Myrons Extreme Machines and this is what he had to say about this bike.

There is a saying... rising tide lifts all boats. Not everyone can purchase a $3K bike. Efforts like cross current MAY open e-biking to lot of folks.

Enjoy the e-grin... :D

The Cross Current looks hot. My biggest gripe with most ebikes are designers don't think about vandalism, theft, and here in NYC cops. I love how this just looks like a bike and doesn't attract attention. Also love the simple display.
