Installed a Rock Shox on my Trek XM700+

I understand. I would purchasing the CX motor outright with no exchange involved. I also realize that should I replace the Performance Line stock motor with a
CX motor I would void the remainder of my two year warrantee. For the time being I'm not going to make the change because I have a 'buzz' like vibration at
certain speeds, felt in the frame and handlebars that I have to resolve

From what I have read on the European and UK forums, you can’t buy Bosch motors outright

The only way you can do it is to buy a used ebike that already has the CX motor installed and then exchange....but the gain may be marginal as exchange motors are reconditioned

I very recently had my LBS install a Rock Shox ( Paragon Gold RL ) on my Trek XM700+ . The stock basic spring pre-load is better then nothing, but not much better...And it rattles.

My goal was to soften up the harshness of the front end and eliminate the high frequency vibrations. Simply put, adding the Rock Shox was fantastic ! The feeling and handling of the bike has significantly improved...My upper body, arms hands etc no longer have to take the 'pounding' that is typical.

The bike seems to be less twitchy, and handles closer to my Powerfly which I really like. I've only ridden 25 miles, but I'm so glad I made the investment....For me, money very well spent. I wish I made this mod miles ago.

I had the Rock Shox installed after reading this. I had 9700 miles on my bike and front end. I have about 200 plus miles on this set up and I am pleased with the ride. Thank you for all the info you and others reported.

I'm glad to hear the Rock Shox install on your Trek XM700+ is working well. Mods of the this type and how a rider responds is really very personal. Congrats
on your 9700 miles. In my book that's some serious riding . The Trek XM 700 + is a great eBike. I extremely happy with mine. All the best.
