I sure would like to have some suggestions and advise.........

Thanks Mucho, Vincent.
I ordered some 'other' stuff that I heard could be better than Slime. I have used Slime on tires here
on my ranch and it had hardly any effect on leaks at all, so I sure don't trust it to seal smaller tires.
I am 'twix and between' the 'Sealer' and the 'patches', as they say you can't run both, so I have seriously
been thinking about the 'solid' tires, but having to purchase 8 (4 for our bikes & 4 for our pups carts),
kinda makes me think that some 'puncture proof' HA! tubes, and sealer might be the best way to go.
I really don't know which way to lean yet.........
I just may stick some 'sealer' in 'em and see how it goes, as I probably won't ever be over a mile from
my RV, and my 'tow car'. At my age, I'm not too Over Ambitious, anymore........Ha Ha.
Thanks again,
OlePhart

maybe i have just been lucky

have some newer bikes with a lot of tread on them right now and haven't noticed this on them but some of the older bikes often had little holes with slime leaking out of them in the van

they would not be low when i got them out to ride but not full pressure, maybe down 5-6 psi and i refill and go 2-4 hours with no issues...
then in a few days or week would be the same thing

i have read that checking the tire pressure before each ride is the biggest deterrent to flats..??

come to think of it the sealant is not always slime, i travel and use different shops summer and winter, and think the summer shop uses stans or something else...
i have the shops replenish it about every 10 months when i do a tune up

i am intrigued by those tannus armor inserts, they look pretty cool

since you are not going far think it should be ok and you will rarely have flats
hope i did not just jinx you guys!

excited to hear how the bikes do
you will love them, ebikes rock

Vincent,
The stuff I was told that is better than Slime, and what I ordered, is called TruckerCo Cream 2, which supposedly has more and larger 'sealing particles' in it.
I have Always had the best luck using the Sealant with the largest 'particles' in it, as That is what seals the holes, not the liquid.
I used to buy some Great Sealant in 5 Gallon plastic cans with a 'push type' 'inserter' and it Sealed Hell out of p;unctures, but I started selling some of my trucks and such and didn't need such large quantities of it, before it dried up
I hope to meet you and some of the other guys one of these days, but I believe y'all are a lot more 'gung-ho' and 'In to it' than we are.............
Again, I Really Appreciate y'alls expertise and advise,
OlePhart

have never heard of that one, keep us up to date on how it does

i am lazy and have the shops do everything on my bikes

also have quite a few bikes so most of the time if i have an issue roll that one back to the vehicle and swap it for another, then drop the broken one at the shop later lol

so far been lucky and always got back to the car...
and honestly rarely had any issues of any type

as far as you guys are going think it will be rare that there are any problems
that being said you tend to end up riding a lot further on ebikes than you think

if you ever come through tucson definitely stop and ride the loop, it is a fantastic paved bike path that crosses no roads and goes all the way around tucson
i recommend parking somewhere on the northwest end of town and riding more north
there is a nice community park 5 minutes off ten on cortaro , great safe place to park and ride the loop

and flagstaff has some nice paved and dirt trails also

if you come this way send me a note and i will show you around :)

Thanks Vincent. I appreciate that very much, that Loop sounds Fantastic.
We have some friends that had a house there.
We used to 'run' with them when we had our cabin in Ruidoso, NM. but we sold it in November, right
before this goofy 'Wuhan Virus' made it's presence known.
We have a nice 'River Bike/Walking Trail' here in Kerrville, Texas that is right on the Guadalupe River,
and it is Beautiful, but too hard for my ole ass to pedal a regular bike, so I think these e-bikes will really
be 'Doozies' on it.
Yes, we are 'considerate', and plan on slowing down, honking our horns, and going WAY Around the
'walkers', so as to not scare them.
We love and go to Grand Mesa National Forest in Colorado quite often, as it's Beautiful and 'cool' there,
but the people aren't too friendly to 'Texans' (but these 'fruit loops' are leery as hell of us).
But, we haven't been up there in a couple of years, but are kinda itch'n to go back and try these bikes
out around Jumbo Campgrounds area.
My wife LOVES to fish and she catches us 'Rainbow trout' there that we eat on for Months, and these
bikes I believe will Really be fun for us to go to all the lakes and let her fish, and me and our Pups watch
her Haul 'em in.
My wife was born in Ohio and the 'heat' just bothers heck out of her, so we try to 'camp' in cool places.
I'll give you a holler when we decide to go somewhere, and hopefully you can meet us there.
That would be fun, and Most Educational for us.
Thanks Again Vincent, and Best to you,
OlePhart (B.J. McCord)

Get a little dingy bell. Goes over way better than a horn (but keep the horn for when motor vehicles look like they're about to swerve right).

I have a vintage 'hand plunger' type 'Ahooooooooga horn' I'm taking off my old 'Townie'
and putting on my new e-bike to get these people attention that walk around with 'those
earplugs' stuck in their ears.
But of course, I'll 'sound it off' WAY before I get to them............
But, that is a Great idea Legsofbeer, and will get a pair of those also.
I appreciate it.
I notice I received one of my 'pup trailers' yesterday that needs assembling. Heh, Heh, Heh.

Ride1Up has hub motor, which means, it takes more effort to take the wheel off.

You will have to cut off zip ties, take wires and bolts too.

You will need zip ties, pliers, and wrench (I carry Knipex pliers)
Thanks Timpo.

Enjoy your rides, and let know how it's going. Pics are always good!

Well, I just found out that the place we envisioned riding the most, the Gorgeous Grand Mesa
National Forest in Colorado, is 'Outlawed for Class 3 e-bikes'.
I am New, New, New, at e-bikes, in fact we haven't even received our e-bikes yet, but I am already
'Despising' the 'pea brained' legislative midgets in the 5 states that 'rule' on the power of the engine,
rather than the 'common courtesy' of the bikers themselves.
Damn Pitiful! Oh well, Adios Colorado, It WAS Fun..............
But Yes, we Certainly will take Many Pictures, when we receive our Bikes and do get to Ride them.
We are Really looking forward to our 'Maiden Ride' amongst the huge Cypress Trees on the 'River
Trail' in here in ole KerrPatch.

I wouldn't suggest breaking the law, but I've never seen a patrol officer pull over an ebike even on the most popular trails. There are obviously a number of ebikes that exceed the Class II limits, but no noticable enforcement. Just sayin'.

...

I live near (actually nearly surrounded by) National Forest Land, where e-bikes are banned from nearly all trails. From a practical standpoint it doesn't really matter because there are tens of thousands of miles of very lightly traveled roads that are just fine for riding an e-bike. I can typically ride thirty or forty miles and see perhaps three vehicles (I'm starting to see people hunting for morels, but mostly it is guys gathering firewood).

My understanding of USFS rules (and I do have to pay attention to them here) is if your vehicle is street legal it is allowed on Forest Service roads.

Most "E-MTBs" are really just city bikes with a few mountain bike components (usually cheap and inadequate ones) and styling to make them look like mountain bikes. If you were to take such a bike on a real mountain biking trail you would leave a debris field of bike parts, gibbets, and curse words in your wake. So if you really want to ride jump trails, janky tech, or great flow trails do your research and get yourself an adequate bike first.

Thanks Mr. Coffee,
We took a small scooter up there before and the 'Park Officers' (other RV'ers working for free RV Space) wouldn't even let us take it off the back of our motor home because it wasn't 'street legal', and I sure don't want to drive all the way up there merely to 'test the waters'.
I'm 'hard headed' enough to take them off and ride them anyway, and I don't want to get the 'Park Officers' in trouble with their supervisors.
There are plenty of beautiful parks in the other 45 States to ride, until these 'dim wittily governed states 'Wake Up', IF Ever........

I hope I have 'Posted' this in the right category.........
I have two Ride1Up 700's on order and a whole bunch of 'bike stuff', but I am 80 and my wife is 53 and we are both 'Beginners', and both dislike being 'broke down', but dislike even more to have to inconvenience others to help us, so we will have on us or in our panniers, the following: 2 extra tubes, 2 tubes of liquid tire sealer, glueless patches, 4 'thingies' to take tires off with, all sorts of tools, our guns & CHL's (Yes, we're from Texas), compressed air pump, a small hand pump, chain oil, duct tape, jackets, a bunch of locks & chains to secure them with, suntan lotion, water, and while I'm waiting for this stuff to arrive, I would like to know of anything and everything that you may suggest that I have forgotten, other than plenty of whiskey....
Do you believe I need to take a larger air pump? What else?
I Much appreciate any and all your help and suggestions to help us to 'Be Prepared', instead of 'Pains in the Butt'.
Thanking you So Much, in Advance,
OlePhart.
I strongly suggest you get your local bike store to order and install these Tannus armours and then you can leave all that other stuff at home. We don't leave home without them. https://tannusamerica.com/products/tannus-armour

As the leader of a cycle group I always say that I carry around enough tools to change the wheels on a 747. Others, don't carry much. One guy only takes his cell phone on the basis that if he has any problem he will ring for a taxi to take him and the bike home. After a few rides you will work out what is needed and what is dead weight.Over the years I have found that 90% of the stuff I carry has never been needed. (but as the group leader I feel I have an obligation to have it available)

Yes Camac, as an Old Eagle Scout, I love to be Prepared, Nothing else but just to not inconvenience any others, but you can Only take so much on a bike and dog trailer..... Time will tell, but if those Tannus Armours, as Steve Mercier suggested, work as good as the name implies, that certainly may be the way to go.
I Really Appreciate all of y'all's Help, Tips, and Suggestions.
OlePhart

HA! I just bought 4 Tannus Armour tires, so I can eliminate a lot of tools and weight.
Now, I need to see what size tires my 2 Pup Trailers are, and order them also.
Man, O man, I can see a whole bunch of potential problems disappearing...........
But, with my Great Luck, I'm sure I'll be able to find more problems to deal with.............
Thanks Steve Mercier.

Haha I am so glad you went with the Tannus and now have one less thing to worry about! Pup trailers ? Do you mean to carry dogs ?
