I suspect its the same as my X2 - ’upgraded silent gear’ which is wider and possibly stronger than the prior M600 PEEK gear.
I haven’t heard a steel geared M600 to compare to, and while I think the ‘cant even hear the motor’ is a stretch, it’s not louder or significantly louder than my BBHSD - completely acceptable IMO.
