Lol, it's now stuck (again) in middle-of-nowhere Idaho. I don't see any info regarding truck vs rail.
With any luck I'll get it tomorrow, but FedEx doesn't seem to deliver on weekends anymore so if not then next week.

Kwseattle, when did your bike leave WW?
Just wondering, because my bike was shipped along with a half a dozen other WW bikes, because Fedex took over a week to finally show up to collect the bikes.
My bike was picked up in Newton, MA on the 28th and has departed Brampton, Ontario today. Now it only has to travel two thirds of the way across Canada.

Mine is in Utah now but still shows delivery for today - that's not happening. I'm pretty sure FedEx always gives one delivery date, then updates it to earlier to make their routes look ahead of schedule, only to revert back to expected day or later once it reaches the last step or so. I hate how much we rely on long-haul trucking; it's not good for drivers or the environment and a better rail network would reduce interstate travel reliance on planes & be easier to convert to electric if the time were to come - not to mention open up areas that may not be on as many people's visit list were it not for the ease of access. If ebikes' success in the Postmates/Doordash vein of work is any sign, all short-haul trucking & local deliveries could be done with EVs no problem.
I'd hazard to say if WW has a contract with the city police they should entertain the idea of a contract for an etrike fleet for city deliveries - I don't want to give them any more ideas that will result in spreading themselves too thin though, not at least until I get my motor lol
Deacon, upside is 2/3rds of Canada is wide open expanse so you can cruise at speed just fine as long as you don't hit a moose, right? Kind of like how Wyoming is here except instead of moose it's meth labs (or if you're near Cheyanne then it's Humvees & APC's)

Oh....I just realized my mind is tripping over the idea of Fedex shipping methods for small packages.
This may well be a whole other form of shipping/trucking done by different vehicles and operators etc.

It made it to Portland, OR this morning but it hasn't left yet - I assume it'll get to Seattle tomorrow and not delivered until next week

Hey my package made it to Troutdale today just after 12pm, but didn't 'arrive at the FedEx facility' there until about an hour ago. They have yet to own up to reality & update the expected day though. I like to think our deliveries are going to be box truck buddies tonight.

Since the 2XL's don't have stud pockets & are extra wide for less-compact snow I checked the math and it'd only cost $100 to get a studded, less fat (with more studs) set for when things freeze up - compared to buying enough Gripstuds or iGrips for the 2XL's. idk I'm just trying to give justifications for poor money management.
KW's order was ~4 weeks ahead of mine, so if they did get the motors in to fulfill orders I'm hoping in the next few weeks mine will ship out - and I opted for the 2-day USPS shipping since it's just a motor and not as obscene as a full bike

I go hiking in the mountains quite a bit and noticed the snow compacts down and freezes pretty hard as the winter progresses. In the mountains it just piles and piles and piles on - and winter groomed trails can be fairly firm - like the track in this video but more trees to wreck into. Last year I found myself hiking while it was snowing, after a night of snow and the pile up on either side of the trail ranged from ankle to waist height. After there's a few thaw & refreezes in many talus fields where you'd have to scramble over large boulders to navigate become completely walkable under 8+ feet of frozen snow that'll support your weight with just some microspikes on your boots - and some trails completely change since you can just walk over everything. The ground stays reasonably frozen through a decent amount of spring too so I feel like I may be on the studded set more - I mean even after we had our 120°F+ heat dome event here there was still snow pack up in the mountains in July, granted not where I'd be riding and not enough to demand studs.
But to answer your question instead of ramble on - yes! I wanna ride some trails to any of the bajillion lakes here that freeze over and shred it up on some ice. Sounds fun - what could possibly go wrong?

Not my video, but after watching a few of them I have an itch to make my own! Seeing that guy go fast and hit jumps on that track and someone from Europe riding on them on frozen rivers was review enough for me on the Snow Avalanches - I know a lot of people complained about the original Snowshoe XL's having bad self-steer but couldn't find an awful lot on these. I opted for them without studs so I can grab a better type than the single point Vee uses, but the stud pattern in them looks like it'd keep rolling resistance low enough & bite where it counts, 240 studs per tire my best guess is it will take me 3 beers to finish both

Well I just waited by the door ALL DAY so I could sign for my package, FedEx came with a different package but not my bike. I just got an update even though it has been "on vehicle for delivery" that it was rescheduled for Monday. Today was the only sunny day I'm going to have for the next several weeks. My disappointment is immeasurable.

I don't think I've ever had Fedex deliver a package on time to my house, so I'm beyond infuriated right now after wasting my entire day (and now ruining my weekend plans)

FedEx strikes again! That does suck but it looks like rain this weekend anyway. Now if you had been able to get it in time for this past weekend that would have been perfect!
My package arrived this evening around 6:30 - out for delivery from Redmond same as yours. They even delivered a giant block of foam I almost forgot I ordered so I can re-plushify my couch cushions. I think I went a little too firm
and Rider, definitely say bye to the sun most days for a couple months in late fall/early winter but the summers are pretty great with ~18 hours of sun a day, 70-75°F with a light breeze, and everything gets pretty lush. Maybe not great for someone with a pollen allergy though as there's a huge amount of wild flowers, but they sure are pretty. I'm from the tropics so the whole 4 distinct seasons hasn't worn on me yet at least, but these several weeks where it's not easy to find time to get outside in nice weather are definitely crummy. A good time for indoor hobbies

Got notice the bike is in the Bay Area the same day I put all my FedEx packages on vacation hold. My father in-law died unexpectedly so now I am closer to the source than I am my bike…

Sorry for your loss. It's great of you to be so supportive of your wife and family at a time like this.
Please do let us know how that all fits when the time comes. I'll probably upgrade to some bigger tires for winter on my E06 eventually (next year?). Looking at the Johnny 5 at this point (slightly narrower and a fair bit shorter than the 2XL) and I'm guesstimating I might get some chainrub in the biggest cog.
To my surprise my bike arrived today! FedEx left it on my porch without requiring a signature. My tracking number still has no updates since yesterday.
Though I'm at my SO's house right now across the water from Seattle... So I don't even get to put it together tonight! Luckily my brother was home so he could bring it in the house.

OMGoodness! That is near tragedy averted. If your brother wasn't there to discover it and bring it in....
After the shock of that settles in my mind, I'm glad your bike was delivered. It should be great fun when you can get back to it and put it together.
