Hey I am doing a small research about a future purchase I am planning to do . which one do you think is better? hub drive or mid drive?

Check the similar thread instead of doing your market research here.
they are currently off on a tangent discussion over there about kits. the first couple of pages are relevant and easy to follow ,but,,, close to two years old.
technology has changed a bit, might be time to start a new thread?

Most people won’t know which one is better b/c they are new to ebiking.

Middrives are hard to fix or source parts, are lighter , wear the drivetrain faster.

- hub drives last an eternity if made by a good company , are easy to fix , but are heavier, and can get you home if your chain breaks. You’d use the throttle.
On a middrive if your chain breaks you’re stuck with a 60lb bike walking it home.

Neither are "better". There are currently strong markets for direct drive hubs, gear driven hubs, and of course the mid drives. Which one will get YOUR job done better would be a much better focus than to try and determine which drive type is "better" when considering one type vs. another.

You need to start with where the bike will be ridden most often. Like hills vs flat land, stop and go traffic vs. more suburban, roads vs. sidewalks, ridden as a commuter vs. for pleasure, etc. It's only when you can come up with a mission that best describes your plans for this bike, that you can make a good decision regarding which drive system is going to do the better job. The better you can describe your "mission" the easier it will be to decide which is right. There is no clear generic answer to your question.....
