Yeah, cutting wires is one way to change your assist limit... to zero!

Looks pretty much identical to the slightly better known Heybike. See if these instructions match your display - P08 changes max assist speed.

As for option 2) … These pics are upside down when uploaded but not otherwise…but they show the full range of my options. 5 speeds. Po1 and po2. And they show how the wire is connected. I think I can? Merely unplug the wire without it being damaged by unplugging it to check it is 5 pin, and then order similar 5 pin one on Amazon that allows option to change speed. Perhaps I should order multiple screens and return ones that don’t work. Here is Amazon one i am thinking of.

Looks like im screwed . Oh well. I got a new seat, ultra wide 13.7 inches , and maybe that will make the 35km/h speed ok. Before the seat was uncomfortable , and therefore I was upset with the bike, and therefore I really wanted it to go faster to compensate. I posted this question on Reddit and they shamed me And downvoted the question. This forum is much better. I suppose this is goodbye, and thank you. Unless of course the support company is lying. They did lie before, they wrote a review , posing as a customer , for the e-bike saying it is ul certified. It disturbed me to find out it isn’t until I learned that ul batteries explode too.

I have a 500w hub motor and it gets up to 1200+ watts. All depends on the controller and what it will pull.

There are ways. Firstly there is the metric conversion trick. Set wheel size to 60% of its true value and the display to metric. Now the bike will go 40% faster and the speed will be accurate in miles per hour. Next long press Up and Down to see if a sub-menu pops up. Tab to Speed Limit, and set it anyway you want. Report back.

I’ve tried that. But I don’t think I have a speed limiter to begin with. I mistakenly thought that due to misunderstanding peak watts for regular watts. I thought I have 1200 regular watts but really I only have 350 regular watts. And I doubt that gets faster than 35kmh anyways.

Yes, a hub-drive with 350 is less than half of one horsepower. It is okay for high-end, super-light mid-drives.

I would consider a good fire insurance on an Amazon e-bike first, and a good health/life insurance if I tried to derestrict it next ;)

I found a video on YouTube called “i Tested Amazon’s cheapest e-mountain bike” in which he takes apart the no name battery to see how well it is made. He says it doesn’t look egregiously dangerous. Presumably mine would be the same quality. Google says 1 out of 15000 lithium ion Ebike batteries explode. And I have two batteries. I found this battery safe bag. Too bad i couldnt attach it to my battery while in use. They seem to smoke before exploding. Or not even explode but just smoke and emit ox acetylene style fire. Maybe I could jump off before getting burned. Especially if I don’t destrict It, which I won’t, since it won’t go faster anyways. The guy in the video says even the bad batteries are better than they used to be. I’d fear destricting A faster bike because I am on the tsdb, and 80 percent of us on it are women, just for reference of what the criterion is for being placed on it. All of us have been run off the road multiple times. They would have every excuse to cause a staged accident if they could blame it on a destricted bike. I do ride with a GoPro and the cameraman never dies. So im not sure what would happen. It would be some plain clothed confidential informant who would cause the accident with me. There are what I suspect to be about a billion of them worldwide. But crazy Talk aside, maybe you mean the speed wouldn’t kill me but the battery explosion caused by the speed would. In that case i am unsure what to do. I could still return bike. i Can store batteries in galvanized steel garbage cans. Only worry is riding then. Edit - batteries burn hotter than melting point of steel.

Ah that idiot, Seth. He knows nothing about e-bikes.
i just researched more. Someone put a flair in the battery bag, and it burned through almost instantly. We have big galvanized steel garbage cans , I can store my batteries in there. And then as for the one out of 15000 thousand chance , the guy from grin e-bikes said it might be one in a thousand chance. And that the reputable brands never catch fire , and that the fires are not from improper use as commonly believed, but from bad cells, which ul certified doesnt address. So the one out of 15000 odds are based on the high end batteries not exploding, so my odds are worse than that like grin says. I could still return my e-bike. I don’t know how worried I should be. I am imagining jumping off or stopping with fire in my crotch and somehow not losing balance and getting my head run over by a truck.
