Hitting knee on folding hinge

I am interested in possibly purchasing a his and hers Lectric bike for me and my wife. They are similar to the Sondors Fold X bike. On the Sondors bike there have been complaints of riders hitting their knees on the folding hinge while pedaling. Is that a problem found on the Lectric bike?

I keep getting my pants caught on that hinge LATCH when I'm at the top of the pedal stroke going downward. Its almost cost 2 crashes for me...luckily I was on grass. I'd get the Step Thru as the hinge is down near the ground. In fact I would only be interested in the Step Thru model if it was available when I bought the XP. Its safer, lighter, and much easier to put the rear wheel back on. And no..its not a girl's bike for those so inclined to think so.

I have not hit my knee on it yet but I have only been riding it for a week. So far I really like it. I upgraded the seat to a cloud 9 and added a bag to the back. At some point I will probably upgrade the brakes but for now they are working ok.

Which model did you purchase ,The Xp or XP step thru? Thanks

Does 62ish qualify? Lol
LOL, Seriously though, I am 6' and the bike is kind of big. If swinging your leg over a bike doesn't bother you then you will be fine. This is my 3rd Ebike and so far I think this is the best quality. The derailleur guard wash crushed into the derailleur during shipping. I bent it back straight and Lectric immediately emailed me a video on how to adjust the derailleur to get it working properly. I also had some problems with the frame latch coming unlocked and again they were quick to send me pictures with instructions on how to adjust. Good customer service is key when buying these bikes online.

That's great to hear about customer service. What other ebikes did you have? And why did you go with a LECTRIC bike?

I bought a Fiido L2 for my wife. It is a good bike however customer service is non existent. I think when it breaks I will simply have to toss it out.
I bought an Ecotric Bison. Customer service was ok but I hated the non adjustable front suspension forks. Who puts downhill forks on a bike and then puts a sticker on them saying they are not rated for DH use? Also the frame was a unique design and there was no way to add a kickstand. I wound up selling that bike after a month of use :(

Then I saw an Lectric bike while out camping. I loved the look and the owner said the bike performed really well. So I did a little research and watched some reviews. It has a good motor (unknown brand) and a sufficient battery. The other parts are mediocre but at this price point you really cant expect much more. Personally I would pay more if Lectric upgraded some of the other parts ie. Hydraulic brakes, better battery etc. 48v 17.4 ah would be awesome.
