Highest nm motor on production ebikes? Specialized Vado = 90 NM, Trek Allant =75nm, others?

I've heard of the TQ HPR 120s mid-drive motor with 120 Nm but am not aware of any current production e-bike with that motor. Specialized 1.2s, 1.3, 2.1, and the new 2.2 motor all produce 90 Nm. The differences between these motors are different peak power and the leg power amplification factor (from 3.2x to 4.1x). Bosch CX provides 85 Nm, Yamaha PW-X2 is 80 Nm, not sure about the latest Shimano EP8.

What's wrong with Bafang?

Anyways, Haibike Flyon?
Nothing at all actually; I have a Frey Ht1000 and it doesnt pedal as well as id like it to consistently so wanting to see how a production bike fares in comparison.

Current Bosch Performance Speed motors, like are used in the Allant 8s, are 85nm. Keep in mind that torque will feel differently with a mid drive compared to a hub drive. You'd also need to pay attention to speed vs torque curves, depending on what you want. One advantage of mid drives is that variable gearing allows you to optimize the peak torque band more readily. You also might want to think about how long a motor can put out its maximum torque, and how it compares to maximum power (power=speedxtorque)

I would suggest you consider/look in to the vast amount of programming potential you have available for what you have now (Bafang Ultra). MOST Bafang mid drive owners agree that the stock Bafang programming leave a bunch to be desired, but once brought up to date, many have these great big grins that won't go away.....

With 160nm stock, and MUCH more than that available (going into "that's just nuts" categories), you're going to go a LONG way to find any more potential anywhere.....

Hmm Thats a good idea.. I tried using the Cable that came with it and it was soo many options but ill dive back in and see what can be figured out. appreciate it!

There's a bunch of Bafang owners/guys hanging out in a forum here at EBR, dedicated to Bafang users and guys wanting to know more about Bafang motors. If you're interested in seeing what can be done with your bike (motor), there's a bunch of good reading:

If you aren't interested in spending a lot of time experimenting with what all those settings are capable of doing, you might have a look here, for some details regarding the Frey "Smooth Tune". It puts your motor into a whole new class in my opinion, sorta like it should have been when you bought it. Check this out:

Oh wow.. this looks like what I have been looking for in the production bikes! Thank you much! Ill post to the linked thread if any issues or questions since it looks like it was pretty active

Your lucky, you have an older Ultra that can be easily fine tuned to pedal the way you want, i would for sure take advantage. A little digging around here and you can find some great custom settings! That said you should still buy the Euro bike because variety is awesome and i want to see the comparison results!
