I am not new to cycling but I am somewhat new to the world of ebikes. I am lucky enough to have the Cleveland Metroparks trail system nearly in my backyard, and the O&E Canal Towpath Trail a short drive away. I have ridden several rails-to-trails as well including the Virginia Creeper. My trusty steed for many years has been a 2000 Schwinn Mesa GSX. It's mostly stock, my only upgrades have been a nicer saddle, a Kryptonite rear rack, and 2-1/8" Kenda cruiser type tires that give it a pseudo-fatbike feel. I am here to learn all I can as I venture into the world of ebikes. I briefly considered simply adding a conversion kit to my Mesa and while I haven't ruled that out, for now I want to leave that bike as-is, as much out of sentiment as anything. My current plan is to build my own ebike, utilizing a conversion kit and I have some fairly specific questions related to that process which I will post in the appropriate forum. I'm glad to be here and I look forward to lots of learning and discussion. Thank you
