Wassup, I'm Gene from the nw burbs of Chicago, and am around a week deep into my Lectric XP 3. So far, I put like 70 miles on it already, so much fun! I never rode an electric bike before this one, so nothing to compare it to...which is good as I'm fairly happy with the Lectric (opposed to if I rode something better prior to it, I'd maybe be bummed with it). There are a few things that I would like to mod on it though, so hopefully I'll find some good input for that here.

Hey Gene, welcome to the community! Congrats on your new Lectric XP 3 and 70 miles already, that's awesome!

Hi Gene,
I've a new XP3 also up here in God's country called Wisconsin. I've had the bike for about 2 months and just today I reached 299 miles and loved everyone of them!
I would like to consider doing doing the route or path that goes all along the lake starting on the northside to the southside of Chicago. Would it be worth coming down and doing it? I'm about 2 hours north of Chicago.

The lake path can be quite busy on weekends across from downtown. Yes, I think it's fun and scenic. Expect to drop some bucks on parking and a slow drive home on the expressways at the end of day,

You could park up north some place off Lake Shore Drive and ride to the path. Or start in the middle, around the Loop or the museum campus.

Last year, we rode the Oak Leaf from Glendale to the Milwaukee lakefront and back during Harley week. That was nice.

Thanks sounds good, now if I could find some one to do the ride with me. There are many bike paths in Wisconsin and it is not far to get to the back roads either. We are very lucky! And we have the Packers, Brewers and Bucks!
By the way nice pictures and Thanks again! The yellow bike looks a lot like my Lectric XP3. What is that bag attached to center of the bike.

I'm just outside Chicago. I've done parts of the lakefront trail, and it's definitely worth checking out. The views are great, especially near the museum campus. It can get crowded on weekends so a weekday ride might be better.

Being retired we do most everything today during the week just to avoid lots of people. I just need someone to come down with me from Milwaukee Brewer Land .

Gene, welcome aboard. I hope you enjoy your ebike experience as much as I have. I’m it for a year and a half now, and I can’t say enough about it.

I haven’t ridden an XP, but my ebike is a 26” fatty from a company that vanished a while back — Juiced. I love this bike to death. Lectric is a really good company, and I am very impressed that they have bought the rights to Juiced and intend to reintroduce the brand down the road. They seem like super people.

Just curious, but did you try their XPeak? That would be my choice if I were shopping them (and I might do that soon if I can’t get any more parts for my Juiced).
