Hi from The Hamptons, NY

@PedalUma, today I learned: quill stem, nominal drain rate vs range. The path to Zen Garden of Less has led me to this - https://ride1up.com/product/roadster-v2/
Could be an excellent intro to ebiking without all the clutter of more!
I was hoping someone else would jump on this hand grenade. Okay, it looks clean. That is nice. It has the Zen of less. But it only has one speed. That will be a dud. It is also a hub-drive motor so that is a single speed motor. It would be like driving a car that is stuck in second gear. Not good for starts or hills and not good for speed. It does look nice and would be a starter bike for a flat beach town in a setting such as Florida. Find out if there is local hands on support for it. See how easy it is to get a replacement battery. Is it a special battery just for this bike, one that costs $750 but lasts for 250 cycles?

Bullet dodged. Grenade still sparking and hissing ... non removable battery? Ride position? After sale support? Check the R1U forum, they seem like a friendly bunch that spent their own money on a bike ...

@PedalUma, evidently there are two speeds - sitting down and standing up! As you say, perfect for a Florida beach town, but I want a few more gears. Supposedly one of my Lectrics is arriving next Wednesday. No word yet on the second. Looking forward to taking it for a spin! As I (try to) grasp the science behind the magic, I realize I will know nothing until I ride a few miles.
