I'm in the McCall area. It's been a great ski season. but ready to get back on 2 wheelsWelcome! Whereabouts are you in ID?
I am starting from scratch, typically 6-7 months of snow on the ground here, so been thinking about a Dengfu E56 fat bike build.Welcome @MTBR. Okay, what do you want to achieve? Do you already have a starter (donor) bike for your build?
In my opinion they are too heavy. Shedding pounds will allow for a smaller battery, lighter weight motor, lighter wheels and tires. It will also allow for smaller brakes and better handling. All with the same range.Dengfu E56
Always trade offs, but narrow tire will have a hard time climbing a snow covered hill around here in winter...In my opinion they are too heavy. nice, I may just go with a non electric fat bike for a winter trainer. The upcoming m610 motor has my attention lately, and sereously concidering FLX Weapon XGot it. I saw the snow this year at 1,000 feet. I didn't consider that. Here is one of my bike builds.
What seems to be the most durable cassette, and hub'sM600's destroy hubs too. Sometimes a little less it a lot more. It is not just about Godzilla spec sheet numbers and more about balance.
Thanks for the insightThere is a lively discussion right now on the thread 'A new wheel build is a nightmare.'
