Here’s a test for you Allant+ owners to do...

Ok, I love my Allant+ 7 with Performance Line CX so this isn’t a complaint. One thing I’ve noticed is that when I’m chugging along at say 15 mph, if I stop pedaling or backpedal and then pedal again immediately, I hear and feel a slight pickup in motor pitch and speed. It’s like the motor shifts up a gear, with a very small change in pitch/pickup. I’ve done this numerous times at 15 mph and it consistently gains 2-3 mph with virtually the same effort/cadence. Again, not a complaint, just curious if anyone else has noticed this.

The motor cuts the support when you have released the torque from the pedals and it disengages the clutch inside the motor. When you start pedalling again, the motor has to start again and engage the clutch. In the mid-drive motor you never move the chainring directly with the crank; you pedal through internal gearing of the motor. What you describe is pretty normal but the exact behaviour depends on the motor brand and type.
