I've was taught in grade school that the 21st was the first day of winter, summer, fall, spring, but it's about the planets orbit and when the shortest, longest, and equal days occur, more often on the 22nd than the 21st.

Nonetheless, I took a ride. Today was warmer than yesterday, but very little sun. Will be out next week too.

Thought that cold blast at the beginning of November might be it for the winter. Hope that proves to be true. 49 is not a problem. Haven't even dug out the mittens yet, nor found the welder's helmet liner that fits inside the helmet. Been out doing service calls all week. Tuned a piano today.

Good day to be riding. Almost 50F on 12/22. Saw an eagle land on the ice at the local pond, but I wasn't carrying my bird lens. Never seen them in Illinois before.

Another 75 miles, and my wife will hit 1000 miles for the year.

Anyone around here who got an ebike for Christmas should be happy it's warm enough to take it for a spin.

It hit 62F here in Chicago area today. We were warmer than Phoenix. They got rain. We got sun. This has to be a first in the winter season. Meanwhile whiteout conditions are forecasted for the plains states and the upper Midwest for the weekend. We are supposed to be at 60 f again on Sunday.

At the local fishing pond, we sometimes see a guy ride in and feed the birds. So on Xmas day, he's there and I take a picture. When I get home, I see he rides a Giant ebike.
