henry

I've posted this one before, but this morning was a rare chance to catch this wall at least partially sunlit. Usually I'm going 25mph and trying not to get run over by the cars in the lane next to me through here, but Saturday AM traffic was non existent.

Based on your own sample, what percentage of henry murals are squatchless?

And what are the odds of ever getting to use "squatchless" in a real sentence?

All these squatches made me wonder, what kind of music do they listen to? Squatch rock? First thought was metal, but apparently it's rave. Skip to 0:48.

Maybe some Mozart for those pensive moments in the forest.

Drove to work yesterday and spotted this one on the skinny end of this dive bar. Biked by on the sidewalk this morning and saw the squatch on the wide end of Woody's.

That different, by any chance does Henry, date his work?
and I see anther name also, I don't believe that is Henry's signature,
as for the different "E" in the names.....and the initial's on the mugs....
Thanks,

No, he doesn't date his stuff. I'm guessing "Miller" did the underlying mural for Barking Dog Alehouse. Then at some point henry updated it with the salon dogs, sun, fish, and tentacles.

collaboration? wish Henry would come east and decorate "Clifton Forge" and or some of the CSX railroad cars that are covered with gang banger graffiti.Clifton forge is a dying, iron and railroad town( trying to recover)

Worked a short day on Saturday, so took advantage of daylight hours to take a long route home to go squatch spotting.

Mural on top of Phinney Ridge down the street from the zoo.

Not so hidden from the other side. Looks like it's lit up at night too.

I like it when henry goes squatchless — assuming that that's a 3-toed sloth with a beer in the zoo mural and not a juvenile squatch with a fake ID. Shows the full range of henry's talent and lets us see more of the real world through his eyes.

squatch so much better then gang graffiti! sort of reminds me of "mail pouch" barn signs from a bygone era. Wow "quatch" is a word.

Thanks,
I really enjoy the Squatch's you post,
I would love to have one on the shop's door, front face...........
I know I don't have that talent in any way, shape or form......
ps,
you only have less than 950+ Squatch's to find, if Henry only painted a 1000...?
And the hidden Squatch looks like it's peeking thru the forest watching.......
Thanks again

I agree, but it is his signature creature so there's a certain expectation. And when you're committed to doing 1000 in 8 months, there's only so much time you can spend painting, say, chickens and bunnies.

I've gone by this house a few times in the dark and kept thinking it seemed a likely 'henry house' but didn't find anything on their fence.

In the daylight today I was able to see the whole chimney is a henry mural! Tough to get a good photo over their fence and around the trampoline.

Wait, that's almost 4 squatches a day!

Maybe he's planning a giant all-squatch Where's Waldo mural.

Love that chimney!

4.78 per day according to Wikipedia. I guess it was more like 7 months.

One way to keep the average up is to do them in pairs or around a corner from each other. There's also a number of fences where he fits as many as he can on, though I hadn't biked by any until today.

Spotted while driving to work yesterday in the rain, biked back by it today.

Hmmm, what would squatches stand in line for? A popular food truck? A rom-com movie premiere? A police line-up would also work.

Something New? I don't think we've seen orcas before--I like it.

I'd hate to have Henry's paint bill, is there a Sherman William's next to where Henry loves??
I hope he recycles all those paint cans, some kid would have a heyday with all the marbles from the inside shaker's, IF kids still play marbles these days.......
